I don't think local business leaders at a State school have as much influence like they do at a private school. Just perusing their Board of Trustees shows that most of them do not reside in the city.
Lesson learned for the admin is to always consult with the local community leaders before rubber stamping a final decision.

Sad thing about ISU giving away the Super Regional, is the acknowledgement by their A.D. that he failed to "reach out" into the TH/Vigo Community for assistance in organizing this, BEFORE pulling ISU's NCAA offer to host after winning the Regional. Both the Special Olympics and TH Convention's Bureau have come on record as stating that TH could've simultaneously hosted BOTH events. Who dropped the ball? Looks like BOTH the Pres. & A.D.
If ya play w/ the big boyz, ya gotta bring a glove, bat & steel cleats...will go down as one of the largest administrative blunders in ISU history.

UE should make a public announcement:
IF WE HAD been offered a super-Regional, we'd have had it here!
Maybe a top recruit will see this and say, sorry Sicks, but Imma gonna be an Ace.

Couldn't determine which category to place it under...who @ UE would authorize this? For a Methodist school, this is considerably extreme.

I deleted the post as it has nothing to do with the baseball team or NCAA regionals. If you want to discuss this AS MATURE ADULTS, you are free to start a topic in the Off-Topic Forum, but I am warning all ahead of time, the leash will be short.

Shallenberger, Widder and -- I think, Scherry -- played for the Woodchucks last year.
