Santa Clara givin' the Hogs a little trouble. Snort. Making the claim they are the real "SC"
Texas A&M making it close with Stanford --- possibly setting up the Aggies vs Longhorns all Texas super regional. Stanford just put in a pitcher that went 3 2/3 innings in their first game today. ERA 7.71 - this is getting interesting.

Talk on the Syc Forum that the ISU A.D. says THEY (ISU) will NOT be able to host the Super Regionals because of a conflict w/ Special Olympics? Maybe the Aces could step up to the plate w/ Braun & Bosse Field? Hell ya...Evansville as host! Come on Ziggy, let's see some creative input here.

NO question the Sick City faithful turned that around for them and the team's response was very powerful. I usually turn these things off right at the end because there's nothing more to see -- in this case, I was glad the cameras stayed on the field. I have seen this sort of response maybe only once or twice before. I come away from these events with a singular thought -- the enthusiasm in the dugouts is something that gets scrubbed away the day after they form the rosters for minor league teams. The energy of the players is something you never see now in the minor leagues -- it's almost like low-level pro players have been turned into zombies. I fully believe that if they'd had 5,000 seats available, they'd have filled them. Never believed Larry Bird City cared that much about baseball. I know they have a summer wood-bat league team. Horned Frogs up on the Razorbacks 7-4 thru 7 innings. Braun is out for lack of seating capacity (1200) and the outfield at Bosse is in bad shape....IMO. I would not dive for a ball there.
They need to be on the phone with IU and possibly playing at Bart Kaufman field..with a capacity of 2500.

If they insist on playing the games in Indiana, obviously Victory Field is an option. Or one of three other college fields in Marion County. I doubt any of them are better than Braun. Either way, they would need to make a call on this by nightfall.
There is a nice college league ballpark in Kokomo, which is not exactly local for the Tee-burgers.
I am too obtuse to go looking at schedules on either of those fields.

ISU failed to submit prior paperwork to the NCAA for the Super Regional...talk about a BS excuse.
Syc diehards are fuming about GIVING TCU the home field...

Meh, they have to win 2 games no matter where they play.
In related news, the Kitties put a poker to the Hoosiers today. Talk about leaving men on base.
Mason Moore is now the best relief pitcher in the United States.
UK off to Bay-tawn Rooge to play the Ell Ess Yous.

TCU website isn't yielding their stats page but I assume that will be corrected. These guys are tough and have sent a lot of guys into the pros.

So who wins between a Sycamore tree and a horn frog?
Some of these nicknames are interesting and there is probably a story there on how they came to be, just like how the Aces went from the Pioneers to the Aces.

It will be easier to learn when Terre Haute Tech became the Sycamores. I suppose the Frog resembles the creature they displaced when they built the football stadium.
