I am an avid reader of this forum but this is my first post. It simply boggles my mind that so many of the posters are naive enough to believe that 1) DeAndre’s back is injured and 2) That DeAndre is ever going to play in an Aces uniform again. Write this down—he will transfer to a P5 school and Walter will probably try to ride with him to get an assistant coaching position at the P5. I wish that this wasn’t the case but DeAndre is as good as gone. We all need to accept it and stop dreaming that he will return to play for the Aces. Let's get back to DeAndre. I guess PurpleNostradamosguy doesn't believe that DeAndre is practicing again and cleared to play. His mind is "boggled" by all of us "naive" posters who predicted it. Stay tuned, someone is about to be served a steaming plate of crow.

We interrupt this topic for a brief message about Dru Smith. ---- [Great kid, great game, wish he was here, hope him the best] ----- Now back to our regularly scheduled topic.
Would be great to get some minutes from DW before March. This Sunday could be a preview of our PIG game. Handle that on Thursday, beat Loyola on Friday, sweep the weekend into tournament, sell the rights to Hollywood!
Remember the naysayers? "no way they'll ever beat UK!!

For sure, you look good if you're right. With DW in there, you instantly elevate UE from 0-14 to about 10-4, and if you have him all season, somebody else is in the PiG. Watching the games the last week or so, the toughest team coming on is Drake, maybe Mo. State. Both are hovering over PiG spots as well. Still it's hard to win 4 games in 4 days against this competition.

I think loyalty to a team (which Dru didn't have) says as much about a player as his numbers do Dru deserves a better rap than what he's getting on this board. By all accounts, he was best friends with Blake, and Marty's departure was handled poorly by the athletic department. Dru showed his loyalty (albeit to his coach, not his team) by transferring. You can argue players should play for the name on the jersey, but we all know they come for the coach. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Dru and his decision, and I hope we can collectively stop bashing him on this board. Didn't mean to "bash" Dru - just believe that he didn't feel much loyalty to our team/program, and that's okay. It was his choice, his decision. I have seen a few of his games and he is playing well for his new team (usually gets a comment from the announcer that he is an Evansville transfer) I also wish him well and would love to have his intensity on defense and his improving offensive skills working here for the Aces. But he's a Tiger now and is representing them well. Hope he continues.

3 days or ten days or in the middle of the season. When the decision is made you are done and it is what it is. Do you really think your employer would follow some set of wn written rules if they thought you should be fired . Do they give you two weeks notice as they hope you do ? No. Your done when they tell you you're done. So you're telling me that if you got fired right now with no warning, that you would go out and say nice things about your former employer? I highly doubt it. Would you come in to work the next day? Of course not, you just got fired. I fail to see how that is a poor reflection on your character as you have a right to be upset and want to tell your friends how much they screwed you! @acesandeights, you're correct, my apologies. Last comment I'll make regarding non-DeAndre topics on this thread. Sure, anyone would be upset over being fired. That is not the point. But Marty's failure to address the fans and the university after he was dismissed (whom supported him for over ten years) was a poor and disgraceful way to leave...that is bad reflection on his character. I thought Marty was better than that...I was wrong. Remember this: Only he and two other coaches in all of division 1 basketball had been at their respective school for as long as he and never been to the NCAA or NIT....that is not exactly a glowing report. So how is that getting "screwed" ?

For everyone who said Deondre wouldn't play again how does that crow taste. Hope you have a fine wine to wash it down.

I think DeAndre want to make a strong showing in his first game back and that's probably what caused him to get 2 early fouls. I think he'll come in tomorrow a little more settled down like he did in the second half at SIU and score points and get rebounds. I think he looks ready to play.

I think we have learned the DeAndre can make **A** difference for the Aces but he is not **THE** difference. UE's inside game is clearly not good enough to win in the Valley and having a versatile player like DeAndre gives the Aces some adaptability, but not enough. Having him back is a clear value but he has spent 85 percent of the season not improving while his competition has improved. If the Aces win a game or two in St. Louis, it will be because of tenacity.
