If you are a mid-major team with a slow history in a pretty good league, you look for a game-changer. When you get him, you probably stop looking since it's not likely you'll get another. So with DeAndre Williams, we all knew he had the skill to be a pretty good player, maybe a game changer -- but that was also supposed to be Cunliffe. I still don't get it that people think this kid is sandbagging so he can get a pro contract. He isn't a Top 100 pro prospect. He is one of the best 10 players in the Valley when he's healthy and playing well. Good grief. If he leaves the program, you get somebody else. If he can't play because his back is hurt, why force him to play with a bad back? It's not like UE is going to magically win the A.M. trophy. Hint: They ain't gonna win it. You are disrespecting deandre. To say he's just a top 10 player in the league is ridiculous, he's the best or 2nd best and very well could be a top 100 prospect Krutwig, Green, Robbins, Penn, Dumask, Brown, Childs, and JFL would all be rated ahead of DeAndre for one simple reason. He has not played. Maybe if he would have played most of the conference season, he would be in the discussion for POY, but the facts is, two games won’t get you in any discussion.

DeAndre could be the best player in the conference without being POY or without playing a game. Best player and POY are not synonyms. The NBA is filled with guys who were never conference POYs and many POYs are playing in Europe instead of on the big stage. That said, the NBA only drafts 60 players a year so being a top 100 prospect means that you may be one of the 40 who never hear their name called on draft night. Of course, "top 100" does sound impressive. Sir Whiskers estimates that in any given year about 200 players are touted by their fans and teams as top 100 prospects. It's akin to the Dick Vitale Law where each year Dickie V names 20 players to be in his Top 5.

I hope he does and I hope he does as a UE player.

Uh...….First 16 games in a college career, .700 FG, nearly 50% from 3pt, 80% FT, 8 RB per game. That's all conference for a senior's last 16 games of his career.

I will try to make this short. If DeAndre leaves at the end of the year,as most people on this forum says he will,he would not be eligible until the 2nd semester next year. Therefore he would only have 1 1/2 years of eligibility left.

Short and incorrect. He would have to sit out at a D1 school the full season next year and have 1 year left.

www.foxnews.com/sports/ncaa-moves-toward-immediate-eligibility-for-all-transfersLooks like sitting out a year is getting ready to change. As far as DeAndre goes I heard from a reliable source yesterday, he will begin playing again in one of the next two games and he has told the coaches he is coming back next year. I’m sure there is illegal activity that goes on to try and get such a good player from a school like Evansville to a power 5, so I guess we will have to wait and see.

I believe he will be back and he will play again this year. An injury that has taken him out for 1/2 a season would be hard for a P5 team to gamble on. QA back injury is hard to mend and easy to reinjure. Resting it and strengthening up during the off season is better for him. If he does transfer we should wish him well. Drew seems to be doing ok a Missouri. Too bad the team sucks.

Just like you and I would do with our jobs. I don't have one problem with him leaving and wish him the best.

For medical redshirt, a player has to have played in less than 30% of games and injury in first half of season.

It would be easier to feel this way if they hadn't tried to get us to lie about his transfer for eligibility, or the absolute morons that bombarded social media from Mizzou. Not to mention he was gift wrapped and hand delivered by the previous coaching staff.
