Honestly never had much interest in Tyra Buss but, after I read the article, I was encouraged to look up her career at Mt. Carmel.
Not living near there, or being involved in Illinois high school sports, she's not really in my history book.
But wow, what a player. I see she had some nice run-ins with Jackie Young.
Now I wish UE could have hung onto her in some form. Then again when you can visit Vilnius, why visit the Ford Center?

I’ve seen the Tyra-for-HC saga referenced on Twitter a few times, as recently as last year’s coaching search.
Surprised no one’s yelled “HIRE TYRA!” at one of the games over the years. 😂

I’ve seen the Tyra-for-HC saga referenced on Twitter a few times, as recently as last year’s coaching search. He's a rather boring scab-picker with little else to offer. No one, not even the originator of the suggestion, would honestly believe that hiring Tyra as the men's coach was feasible. But plenty of people were giddy over the hiring of local legend Walter McCarty. Not one of them will admit to it today. (I think I'll look that up.) We know now that Tyra Buss, Marvin Gray or Marcia Yockey would have turned out better than Walter NBA with none of the ongoing lawsuits. All that glitters is not gold. |

A dozen regulars just breathed a sigh of relief. Walter was a consensus hero until a week after the UK game. That's when they all played the "I Told You So" card and rewrote their own history. Maybe they would like to self-identify. Maybe pigs will fly. |
