I can see where he can definitely shoot the ball. But on the D1 level players are so quick that would he be able to handle the quickness of those players to get a open look.

He is starting PG for the best AAU team in Indiana that travels all around the country playing against top tier players. He is plenty quick enough.

Are there stats or box scores available from his AAU games? I’ve tried looking but couldn’t find any on google. I agree he’s definitely no scrub and that AAU team is very good, but I’d like to see some box scores of how he performs against the higher competition out of curiosity.

Not sure on his AAU stats or stats against higher competition but here are his season stats:
Junior guard Josiah Dunham: 26.5 ppg, 5.7 apg, 5.5 rpg.
Source was the CP preview from two days ago of the weekend tournament.
His AAU team is Indiana Elite which also featured a 6’10” player from Kokomo.
————————- Prephoops.com Kyler Staley’s breakdown from June 2nd of his AAU team:
First Team All Spring Indiana AAU:
Micah Davis – 6’0 PG 2023 Franklin Community – Indy Heat 2024
Kanon Catchings – 6’5 SG/SF Brownsburg – Indy Heat 2024
Josiah Dunham – 6’0 PG Evansville Christian – Indiana Elite 2024
Jack Benter – 6’4 SF Brownstown – Grand Park Premier 2024
Flory Bidunga – 6’10 C Kokomo – Indiana Elite 2024
Breakdown: These 5 really stood out to me all spring. When looking at this team, the name that jumps right off the page is Bidunga which was quite possibly the easiest choice as first team simply because the 2024 phenom has been incredible all spring. His teammate Dunham has fallen a little under the radar on that Indiana Elite 2024 team because there is so much talent on there but I am so impressed with his on-ball skills. The two Indy Heat players Davis and Cathcings have been so electric all spring and have put up some major numbers. Then that leaves Benter who has arguably been the best shooter in the 2024 class at this point in time. Just an incredible 5 right here that are only going to get better.

I like the look of this kid. I hope we offer, but I do have some concerns.
The only thing that makes me hesitant is his lack of offers. His AAU team is stacked, and it’s impressive that he is the starter for such a program; however, it is concerning to me that he gets a crazy amount of exposure from all the coaches watching him play for his team mates, and he still doesn’t have any offers.
Id love to hear a college coaches assessment of why that is. Like I said, I’d roll the dice and offer him because I think he can definitely play based on what I’ve seen, but it looks like a lot of college coaches disagree for some reason. It’s definitely not just because of a lack of exposure or competition questions from him being at ECS when you’re playing on an AAU team like that all summer.

Ball ST has came down to watch him workout. IUPUI has recently reached out to him.
UE coaches are going to watch him again this week.
I believe he will start to get more and interest as time goes on.

It’s definitely not just because of a lack of exposure or competition questions from him being at ECS when you’re playing on an AAU team like that all summer. Two words are the reason that this kid doesn’t have any “offers” now. Transfer portal. It is screwing over the freshman classes every year now. (Remember, we kept hearing nothing would change, and it was all because of Covid?) But regardless, if you look at the schools that have looked at him, or reached out to him, you will notice that it is teams that are struggling, with the exception of possibly Ball State. It is a vicious cycle now. Coaches don’t want to invest the time into a player who may very well be gone in a year or two, especially if they can get a player from the portal that has some experience. These upper tier freshmen are being passed on by the bigger schools because their recruiting takes place from March to August, and they believe these kids are either 1) a fall back plan as a freshman, or 2) a player they will be able to steal away in a couple of years after a coach has invested many hours into them molding them into a ball player at the college level.

The portal is definitely an issue. NCAA really needs to go back to forcing the year off with transfer.
I see where exceptions could be made for kids who gets recruited by a coach and the coach gets fired before their freshman year.
The current portal thing is just creating an easier route for P5 teams to pluck elite mid-major talent.

I really think UE should take a chance on this local kid. He's definitely going to be better than guys like Bobe or Frederiking. He'll sell some tickets too!

I say roll the dice on him too, but after our latest commitment, i could see the coaches aiming for higher prospects and then falling back to him with an offer if those prospects fall through. Definitely better than the players you mentioned, but hopefully we’re done recruiting those caliber of guys
