Shamar, a sophomore, is an excellent player and his stats easily point that out. He is ultra fast and has developed well. I expect him to be a top MVC point guard before he graduates. He is not a shooter...but that is not why he was re rited here. Failure for any fan to not recognize any of this is absolutely clueless.

And Shamar was one of the current players that liked the commitment announcement tweet.

Not cool to speculate on current players. I agree with you 100% on player speculation okie. Anyone currently on the roster should be off limits. In addition as for any of our commits, hold your comments unless they are positive.

Since everyone wants to throw around theories, and what they think will happen, I figure I’ll put one out there. What if, the investigation has been over for a week now, and the University believed that it was a suspendible offense, but not a terminal event, so instead of announcing said suspension to the public, they leave him on “administrative leave” (same thing as a suspension anyways) while “the investigation continues”. He stays on leave the number of games of his suspension, and returns after. No muss, no fuss, and since they are a private University, they do not have to disclose anything to us. Seems legit, and I think that is what is happening. What good does suspending him do, though? There were no NCAA violations that would dictate an official suspension, and I doubt very much whether the UE Title IX policy proscribes a certain amount of games for a certain type of offense. If Walter crossed a line, or if he's put a toe across it too often and the university doesn't see anything changing, he's gone. If they determine the offense was minor enough that he can continue coaching, everybody is going to want him back as quickly as possible. Who possibly benefits from the Powers That Be telling Coach, "hey, we're cool, but you have to wait two more games"?

Wow! This thread blew up out of nowhere. I think people like good news. Glad we still have recruits wanting to come here. Welcome Samari Curtis!

So ... just wondering ... with the announcement of extra recruits planning to be on the team next year, could it be that some current team members were told their positions on the team would be taken, thus causing their total lack of effort since the Murray game?? Or could it be that Art, John and Sam, as 2020 graduates, are all planning to move on? I sure can't figure any of this out. It makes no sense. Unless something has changed since the Walter situation blew up (very possible), Sam is not leaving and has told the staff he isn't leaving. But I was told this a week before the news broke about Walter, so who knows

He will be eligible mid December next year if he is enrolled now. So he will have 2 1/2 years of eligibility

He should have 3.5 years left - he’s just a freshman who played one semester at Nebraska.

Our non signed commits are in prep school as are some of the most recent recruits the coaches were pushing the most. These recruits could continue with their current teams or transfer to better teams as both Trey and Khalil did and enter a post grad program extending their prep playing time. I think they lose a year of NCAA playing time but there are at least 6 scholarships available for 20-21. This gives them an extra year of playing time if they are an NCAA “qualifier” when they join UE. I’m not sure about this, but this may have been how DeAndre Williams got here with a sit out and only 3 years of eligibility.
Of course if some scholarships open up in May none of this matters.

Givance should be one of the 1st given his walking papers in the UE backcourt. He can't shoot a lick from outside, see the floor(matchups)or distribute, over dribbles into traffic, et al. He's also a major defensive liability due to his size. Simply not cut for UE/MVC hoop. Reminds me of the of the Div III phenom that McCarty gambled on last season. Try some research. Per 40 minutes played or 100 possessions played Shamar leads the team in steals, fewest turnovers, assists, and assist to turnover ratio. In fact, in overall games played he leads all MVC players in assist to turnover ratio at 3.6. He is a 71% FT shooter and a better 3-pt shooter than Sam, Noah and Evan. His height does bring down his overall FG% but give him credit for fearlessly taking it right to the bigs on occasion. Mr Whiskers is a huge fan of Shamar. Further, the turmoil hasn't slowed Shamar, he still leaves it all on the floor. He is as close as the team has to a leader. AND, he is nothing at all like Shea Feehan. Not. Even. A. Little. Bit. MVC stats show him @ #21 in Assists/Gm @ 2.1, which is about one (1) every 10 min of p/t (he avg's 20 min/gm). Nothing to brag about here for a PG. Roman Penn of Drake leads @ 5.9. ***UE has the worst ball movement in the MVC! He rates #18 in Steals/Gm @ 1. ***UE ranks dead last in the MVC in Defense. He shoots - 34% (20/59) 2's & 33% (10/30) 3's. ***This is Par for UE which shoots 33% from 3 pt. range Rather than compare WITHIN the team, perhaps you should look @ the MVC competition. This isn't the Intramural League. www.mvc.org/mbb/stats/CONFLDRS.HTM#conf.wki
