Agreed, “Left the team” doesn’t seem accurate here, but I am curious; what exactly is the injury? (There’s no scouting report to disrupt at this point)

Kiyron Powell in the portal for USI. Go ahead and take another victory lap, Evilleintentions. You were right about him all along.

Found this to be interesting commentary from Brian Evans (Indiana, Big 10 POY in 1994-95.) He covers Woodson, NIL, players attitudes, Indiana State/Schertz, etc. He slams Woodson and gives a lot of praise to Schertz.
The conversation at the beginning of the 30 minute interview is pretty funny.

Dusty May just backed out of the Louisville job in the 11th hour for Michigan. Gonna have some ripple waves in the carousel. Devries was allegedly the backup plan at Michigan. Now he has one less suitor. Louisville had interest in Schertz and now they could potentially make a push for him as their top guy.
There’s also rumors that Ben McCollum pulled out of the Mo State search because he wants the Drake job if Devries leaves.

Eshan is a really uninspiring move by UIC. He inherited a team at UAB that came off a 26-7 season and only lost one senior. He promptly went 17-16 with it. It might make a little more sense if he had deep Chicago connections, but he is a California guy. Played for UC-Davis and has been at Stanford the last 4 seasons.
Meanwhile, downstate rumors have the Salukis reaching a verbal deal with Morehead's Preston Spradlin before he abruptly backed out. Spradlin grew up and has spent his entire career in Kentucky. Rumors think he may be eyeing the Western job if Steve Lutz returns to SMU. A lot of posters are leaning towards Kyle Smithpeters. Like Mullins, Smithpeters played for SIU. Smithpeters did have a highly successful 10 year run as HC at nearby John A Logan before joining the staff at Mizzou.
Missouri State is certainly a wild ride at this point. A lot of "names" getting chatter, including Bob Huggins, Steve Alford, Tom Crean and Greggggggg. Things appear to have cooled with early front-runner Ben McCollum. Sounds familiar to 2 years ago here.
Hard to realize that if Devries and Schertz end up leaving, Ragland will be in the upper half of league seniority.

Devries gone. Schertz likely gone. There’s a void at the top. Why can’t we fill it? Retain our good players and bring in a few more impact guys and we’re right there. Time to capitalize.
