This game is looking a lot more challenging than it was two weeks ago when they lost to Valpo. Recent wins over Belmont and MSU for the Redbirds.
If we play like we did last night (outside of the runs to start the halves), I think we can beat them without Ben. If Ben comes back, which is suspect he will, I think we’ll have a great shot at beating them. Big game if we want to have aspirations to finish in the top 10. Win the next 3 and we’re firmly in the 8/9 spot and maybe better if we keep winning. Losing record over the next 3 and we’re back in the discussion for a last place finish.

Will someone explain to me Why Bobe gets any playing time?

Will someone explain to me Why Bobe gets any playing time? As a Bobe defender, it’s getting harder to justify without him contributing from behind the 3 point line. Hopefully he finds his stroke, or Ben’s return leads to Ben absorbing the majority of Gages & Sekous minutes. I’m sure both are great guys that work hard, but we can’t afford to have guys that aren’t threats on the offensive end on the floor.

Will someone explain to me Why Bobe gets any playing time? Well he did shoot 40% on threes last year in conference, and is one of our best defenders at the guard position. I don’t mind him shooting an open jumper, but his midrange pull-up with a guy in his face needs to stop.

And No he's not one of our best defenders....Have you watched him on offense? He runs to the corner and stands there, and he's not a good ball handler.

Last year’s play is why kids get a chance this year, because over an 18 game schedule, they are hoping the percentages play out based on his body of work. I guess we all have different opinions, but I trust guys that have more experience than you at substitution patterns.

What the Aces need is a win without Ben. If Ben doesn't return Saturday, it is imperative that UE wins this game. The comparable teams to the Aces are coming up . Win Saturday, with or without Ben, will set the stage to start a win streak that could take the record upward to 15-9.
just an opinion...

I remember when the Aces beat and very good Xavier team at Roberts without Marty and another player. Nobody gave them a chance but they won. This team has the guts to do the same if Bern is out . Just need a leader to do the job.

Most, if not all of those shots were when the game was over. Either the starters didn’t care, or the subs were in. I don’t dislike him, but throwing that stat line out like it translates to this season is misleading.

Plus, in-conference scouting reports are very good. For Gage it probably just says: Take away his open three-point shots.
That's really all they need to do defensively on him.

I haven’t did the homework to prove you wrong, but from my memory I thought he had a few games last year where he had valuable minutes and hit some threes in the first half, I’m sure you have done your homework, but i will see what I can find, I’m curious to know.

Brian Hill started at center matching up against Xavier's Tyrone Hill and Derrick Strong.

He did hit a few shots last year that were key, but as Aces44 mentioned those were the exceptions and few and far between.
We won five games last year - so for the record, nobody was very good, individually or as a team last year.

The point he was a 40% 3 point shooter in conference play, the best 3 point shooter on the team. Well I did look over the game logs the games we were most competitive in and the one game we won were his best 3 point shooting games. So there is a reason he shoots 3’a because he was successful last year.
