First, if you go look at the game logs surprisingly Bobe’s best game were in our 1 win and the tight games, there was about 5 of them in conference play. Second, Haffner was in the OVC last year not the MVC, I do feel if Haffner starts connecting with consistency he will be back, as you can see against UNI he played a lot of 2nd half minutes. I’m just one the falls in the category of the Coaches know basketball better than me, I mean this is their livelihood, do you not think they want to succeed? all of them could set themselves and kids up for life if they are successful. They spend hours practicing, watching game tape, discussing among themselves and then follow through with the game plan. I will leave that worry for people that want something to continually gripe about if they don’t agree with starters and substitute patterns. All fair points that's generally why I don't post much anymore. I try to stay out of all this unless I see something that really doesn't make much sense to me. But I know the coaches know a whole lot more than me - no question. I think the main thing we can all hope for is both of them shoot a whole lot better and start making shots. If that can happen it's really going to help the team especially with Ben coming back (hopefully). I just think Haffner has a whole lot of upside from what I have heard from people attending practice and from what I see from him. I agree Haffner does have more of an upside, I think the reason Bobe is starting is to try something different, he has only started the last few games and Haffner has seemed more productive. I appreciate your comments.

Gage, Kenny,& Antonio are starting because it's their final year. Gage and Kenny been thru the trash and the thickets of the previous year. Cuff, Bailey and Hughes, when Ben is back, should be sub in in due time

So this is my opinion on Haffner. Scouting report from last year is hes a 3 point threat so teams key on him,if we had more 3 point shooters,in which we don't, and if our guards would penetrate and dish out to the open man Haffner would be a better player.

Can’t disagree with this statement. However, at the same time, if everything was equal (talent, work ethnic, knowledge of the coach’s offensive and defensive systems, etc) it is very common for coaches to play their most experienced guys. So I know where 6thman is coming from. Where this falls apart IMO is there is a huge discrepancy level between our new recruits (freshman and sophomores in general) and our upper classmen. Also it is very clear that the starting lineup of the last couple of games is not working and is digging a deep hole for us at the beginning of each half. So for these reasons we need to consider all our options and make a change and not just start a guy because he is a 5th year senior.

Bailey is the guy that should be doing this and let's hope he works on his passing skills in the off-season. He only has 18 assists for the season.

Bailey has a shoot first, pass maybe mentality right now. Many ask why Braylon Jackson is not getting any meaningful playing time. His approach to the offense during his limited playing time has been shoot first, shoot second, shoot every time he touches the ball. There will be no Bobe, Strawbridge, or Thomas running the offense next summer and both these freshman will now be veterans and they will be expected to contribute more to the overall offensive scheme.

I'd listen to any other reasoning. I prefer both Cuff Hughes and Bailey or Haffner. Apparently Coach Snow or Rags has a different opinion. It was the only reason I could come up with.

Illinois State is a 1.5 point favorite.
70 points seems to be the magic number. If we keep them under 70 and if we score over 70 we win.
This is also known as if we score more points than them, we win.

This is what I don't like about Jackson and May,they aren't good enough to get any playing time over any of our current players.

Any news on Ben’s availability? Spoke to him last night at the women's game and asked him if he was on for Saturday. He said we will have to wait and see. Someone else told me they cannot disclose anything because of Vegas betting odds (or something like that) -- not sure if I follow that logic.

Per “tavern talk”, Big Ben is out for the season. I guess we’ll find out in a few hours. Redbirds coming into town with momentum; Need Chuck and Co to step up this afternoon! Go Aces!
