The Aces fan base is pretty funny. Some rarely comment except when things are bad, I predict not much will change in starters unless more injuries, our most talented players are very young with very little college experience. Our upperclassmen are average at best, and we lost our best player. I think we will win some valley games once Ben comes back, Murray State proved to me tonight that they are playing really good right now, and I guess Bradley is starting to as well. Not trying to argue with anyone just sharing my opinion like everyone else. Next year there will be a a different starting line up, some of the players that are suggested to be starters have horrible games as well. So the coaching staff that has watched them since the summer and everyday in practice will play who they think, Ragland literally just received a coaching award last week. This program was so bad it’s going to take a few years to turn it around, but I believe in the coaching staff and I like some of these players, I think they will get better.

It is time to shake things up a bit. The starting lineup was fine when we were playing in the non conference schedule. For the most part it was working, why rock the boat...I get it then, but not now.
No opinion here, just look at the numbers. Thomas and Strawbridge need to come in off the bench and not start the game and have less minutes played per game. Neither is giving us what we need on both ends of the court in terms of points, assists, minimal turnovers and playing hard on the defensive end...period. Haffner is also not giving us much and he should not be starting, no reason at all when you have Tanner Cuff on the team.
After two blowout losses in a row it is pretty obvious we need to make some changes. We have nothing to lose so get the younger guys who play hard and show some promise into the game and give them some minutes. Mix up the defense, try the trap until it no longer works, speed up the game, anything different than what we are showing which is really a losing posture and poor play on both ends.
Sure, we miss Ben but we would have lost this game and the Cincy and Murray games as well with him.
Again, this is only the staff's 2nd season and it is going to take more time than most of us want to give it to clean up one of the worst D1 programs in basketball over the last several years. We have the right AD and staff in place, just going to take years not months to clean up the giant mess left to them.

Problem is, the guys that can go get it offensively, can’t do anything defensively and the guys who get after it defensively, aren’t contributing offensively. What does the coach do?

Does anybody remember the pre-season predictions on Valley finish?

Good viewpoint from Chuck in Anthony's article: “Toughness (needs to be improved the most). Every team is tough,” said guard Chuck Bailey III, who scored a game-high 18 points. “They’re gonna play hard. .. Every team is coming like that with that same energy. Just toughness, man. And that’s really it.”

Does anybody remember the pre-season predictions on Valley finish? What were we 11th? I still think there is oppty to go 8-12/7-13 which should put us around 8/9th in the league.
I have been guilty of being too optimistic in the past though...lol. I am not even going to read my glowing post from last year after we played a very good St. Louis team pretty close.

These highlights of Rienk Mast and Nebraska beating Purdue should be used as a training video for the Aces, so they can learn how to play with toughness, as Chuck Bailey pointed out. Watch the effort these guys put into that game! Why can't the Aces play this hard??

Forgot one more thought. Should would love to have Gabe Spinelli back on team. He was at least quick and played with energy. Nope. I’ve seen him play a couple of games and according to what I saw he would offer no help to the Aces.

No toughness on this team as of now. There also needs to be something lineup changes made.I turned the game off 5 minutes into the 2nd half but I believe I would have played all the walk ons at least 8 minutes and what is the deal with Braylon not playing but 2 minutes.

If you don’t think that we have improved in talent and recruiting since Rags has been here then idk what to tell you. I would like us to win the MVC this year, but it takes a few years. We already win games this year that we wouldn’t have the last few, but I know many want Rags to fail, but based on the freshman and the recruits coming in we are trending up. I’m sorry you don’t think we are.

Yep, I don't think anyone...fans or coaches think just showing up is acceptable and are content with another 24 years of no tournament.
I didn't see the game last night as I was driving back from Indy. I did have it streaming until I got close enough to pick up a station. The one positive is I don't think we realize how good Jevin is at calling games. As the game evolved into beatdown, he managed to keep it entertaining throughout. When your team is getting blasted, finding things to discuss and staying in the game is difficult. I hated that Sara Dunn or someone back at the station screwed up and cut Ragland off in the middle of his interview and switched to music. They had done that a little earlier but quickly caught it.
I still think we are moving in the right direction and am not giving up on Ragland or pushing a panic button. Year two of a complete, scorched-earth rebuild and there is progress. I will add this though. I keep hearing Ragland speak about patience as this process is built. I believe it....but...if he wants our patience, I would like to see less secrecy from the program to the fans. Ziggy and staff are light years away from the hidden bunker Spencer and Lickliter operated in, but we have a way to go in my opinion. To date, no one knows what happened to Ben, how serious the injury is and an actual expected date. No one has asked or is aware why Braylon isn't playing more. We are in the dark on our NIL. I would even say they played the Marcus thing a little too close to the vest. He is out there lobbing smoke bombs, playing "I've got a secret" on twitter. It would only be fair to at least issue a statement, thanking him for his contributions, etc.
If they want our patience, I think we should be informed what is going on. I don't really buy it's keeping the opposing coaches guessing. Prohm and Wardle didn't appear to be caught off-guard by anything. I guess if we reveal too much, we could get blown out by someone.

All I know is something needs to change. Something behind the scenes has obviously happened to make this team tank. If guys don’t want to put in the effort, then sit their ass down. Ragland needs to get tougher with these guys and stop coddling people. If you don’t want to give 110 percent, sit your ass down. My team is on the floor….coach Norman Dale.
