At least we’re being more forthcoming about the reality of the injury now

Another 25 point beat down coming our way if this team doesn't step up. Digging ourselves a hole to start conference play.

Day to day would not suggest a fracture. That taps me out on foot injury science.

Translation: "Day-to-day" means that Ben is our best player and saying that he won't be back for weeks rather than days would hurt ticket sales. Being slightly transparent about him not playing in a road game is harmless; those aren't our ticket sales. But, he might be back for the home game Saturday because he is day-to-day [wink wink] so get your tickets now. Today's sponsor is "Ticket Sales 101."

At least we’re being more forthcoming about the reality of the injury now Did I miss how he injured his foot? No ones ever said. I assume it happened in practice. Not sure if it’s actually foot or ankle either. The rumor was broken foot, but that’s definitely not true based on the timeline. My guess is it’s a sprained ankle.

If it was a foot injury it could be the rest of season. Foot injuries for basketball players are bad. On the bright side maybe we can medical redshirt him and have him for 2 more years rather than 1.

Sadly I think he’s already played in over 30% of the games for this season, so I don’t think he would qualify for a medical redshirt. Hopefully it’s just something minor and he’s back in the next 2 weeks.

Ben has already played in 12 games. Even if postseason games were counted and we won the National Championship and we played 40 games then maybe. But not sure if they count postseason games. Just hoping we can win one game without Ben at the moment and get him back before the end of the month.

At least we’re being more forthcoming about the reality of the injury now I’m optimistic in the fact that he’s in a walking boot with no crutches. The fact that he walks as normal as possible in a walking boot is a good thing to me.

The fact that he walks as normal as possible in a walking boot is a good thing to me. I agree completely. I’m guessing it’s a sprain and he’s close to back to normal but they want to make sure he is 100% healthy before releasing him to play. Hopefully he’ll be back by ISUr at the latest. It would be awesome if he comes back prior to the Iowa trip and we can make some noise with a win on the trip. I don’t have much optimism for a return any earlier than that imo.

Nothing exemplifies the struggles of the last few seasons more than the repeated beat downs from Bradley. Haven't played them within 30 the last 4 matchups. 31, 32, 35 & 45 pt margins. Kept getting worse. Wow. I'm glad Reink Mast left. He was a beast underneath. He should be happy today, his Cornhuskers beat Purdue. He scored 18.
