Can someone answer this...Has Williams been out for all 6 of the conference games? If not, how many? 4 of 6 I stand corrected, it was the Bradley game a few days after Valpo that we first missed him.

If DeAndre and the Nebraska transfer do not have anything better to wear than jean's with holes in them, they should be in UE sweatsuits. That was embarrassing! It appears to me this program has deteriorated to the point they have zero standards. We have bigger issues than what street clothes players are wearing. To be honest I have never paid attention to that, but if there is a standard or dress code, it was surely set by Walter before the season started. Bennie is in a terrible situation and I feel for him. His coaching can surely be questioned. But I do not hold him responsible for players’ fashion choices. And if we were winning, I really doubt we would be talking about jeans. I agree that it isn't the big issue, but it might be symptomatic of a larger issue.

Seems like DeAndre and the Nebraska transfer were getting along with each other.

As AceCard mentioned in another thread the cheapshot on DeAndre by the Valpo player happened at the 16:57 mark of the second half. As DeAndre was running down the floor to set up on offense around the free throw line the Valpo player lowered his shoulder (and blindsided) DeAndre knocking him to the ground. At the same time it looked Like DeAndre was ok after he got up and continued to play well. He certainly did not show any signs of a back injury from this play. But DeAndre is such a gamer that you never know. And as previously mentioned it doesn't take much to tweak a back. Of course, it could have been another play as well or from practice. I included a snapshot of when he was knocked down on the play but you probably can't tell much from it without going back and looking at the game around the 16:57 mark. Thanks again AceCard. I've messed up my back making a ham sandwich. It could have happened at any time. They're smart not to rush him back.

I injured my back in the Army while I was assigned to a Medevac Unit. We were working a helicopter crash. I was taken off flight status for 2 weeks, getting physical therapy everyday. Now I have 3 degenerative disks. I absolutely think that DeAndre should not come back until he is COMPLETELY healed. These injuries can last a lifetime.

Nobody ever said it would be easy. I spent four years in the Air Force as a medical laboratory tech., and I have seen what back injuries can do to a person.

Never participated in DI athletics. But, played multiple varsity sports in high school. Every away game we traveled to or when injured and sitting on the bench, you were obliged to dress in the appropriate attire, of the values the school we attended and represented. In the business world and representing my firm, when traveling. I was always required to dress better than the position above mine or better than the other business' reps in attendance.
I don't care about kids attire. Nor adults, for that matter. Yes, I understand, fashion standards have laxed, through the years.
I live on the beach, where most people are half naked the majority of the time. So, I'm kinda numbed to being shocked or alarmed by clothing. But, that's a leisure activity and not the face of a small private university. Fully aware that a ripped pair of designer jeans can cost a few hundred bucks. Doesn't make them anything other than ripped & faded.
I'm sure bench attire's probably set by coaches and not the university.
Most games, I've watched on TV or attended in person, the injured on red shirted players are wearing school issued sweats or in a jacket and or tie.

I guess each one of us has something that bothers us about UE's public image...to me, it is a band that hardly showed up last year (so glad to see them here this year), no-show from most students, except for athletes who show only on recognition night and promptly leave after half time, no dance team this year following an almost non-existing one last year, and most of all...a team that has played with little effort or passion for a month....now those things bother me much, much more than DEAndre's jeans....to say nothing of our conference record which I see plastered on the screen every time I watch a MVC game!
All these concerns seem magnified when added to our current coach situation.....we're all going to have to have thin skins to survive the critics...and we are all going to have to be tough to move forward if ever this mess gets settled and we can help get this team, and program, be successful again. I think most of us are ready for that tough fight. I just hope UE recognizes the toughness of its fan base.
