Preston looks like the kind of player that a school like UE needs on its roster. At this point he’s not a power conference type of player but he certainly shows a skill level needed at the mid majors. I like his size and athletic ability along with his basketball skills. All to many times a school like UE gets a big player that is lacking in one or more of these skills to be successful. You have to like his potential with good coaching and work ethic. When you look across the spectrum of this year’s recruiting class. Personally I think it’s exceptional. We have size and skill at the 6-7 to 6-9 height. No skinny minnies here, no two left feet or hands that can’t catch a beach ball. Add who we got to who we already have as underclassmen and we are going to be pretty solid in the paint. No dominating 7-footer but those are rare in the mid majors anyway. Our guard play is going to be really good. Boynton is going to be the point guard we see on other good teams that we wish we had. Beauchamp is going to be that shooting guard that will be lights out when we need it. His range is a deep three. We have a returning core of guards that will have two or more years of eligibility if they exercise the Covid eligibility. Without injury or other problems there will be no looking down the bench to see who we can put in. We will not be where we want to go yet, we are certainly walking down the right road. I think the coaching staff has done their job to bring in the right players to move this team forward. Your glass isn’t just full, it’s overflowing. May I suggest a larger glass?

But at least you couched it by saying "we will not be where we want to go yet." I hear Gonzaga has rejected our offer of a home-and-home.

Ol' Whisker's must've been hibernating when Joe Tex came out w/ this song in the late 60's. Arms, legs, does it make a difference after you get to college and pump a few weights?

I dont see Boynton beating out Shamar at the PG position They will share the minutes t keep fresh legs on the floor. There will be a lot of rotations at the guard positions both 1 and 2.

Skinny arms should not be used as a means of evaluating college talent is the point. Note: I will likely not respond to future comments unless they are constructive on moving the dialogue further. But really no future comments are needed as I think the above comment stands on it’s own. If you disagree with the first sentence and can elaborate with a reason, you can have the last word. I presume your point is a 5-star recruit can have skinny arms and it is no problem but a 2-star recruit can’t. If so, we will have to disagree. Obviously most all recruits need to bulk up but to me that is different than just concentrating on skinny arms. Austin, I have never seen a post from you that I didn't like. Although it won't change the world in any way, you are my favorite poster on this forum. Keep up the good work.

Big kids who sign with UE historically take time to develop. If they were already "D-1 ready" in most cases they would have signed somewhere else. "skinny arms" or not, Preston seems to have some good skills. Though not highly recruited, in my many years watching the MVC, I saw some great kids who turned out well who did not have any D-1 offers at all. One of them came to UE - Dan Godfried. The first time I saw Dan Godfried, I thought he couldn't put one foot in front of the other, with out having to think about it first. He turned out to be a player that helped us get a win in the "big dance".

I will personally pay to start a new forum if the moderators continue to let whiskers destroy constructive conversation. This forum is a cesspool and it's embarrassing. Go for it, get out your wallet start a new forum. Then you can censor anybody you want who disagrees with anything you say. That would be preferable to you asking the operator of this forum to ban somebody you don't like. I don't personally know Purple Whiskers, or for that matter, know anyone else on here (that I am aware of). But if you guys who disagree with him can get him, or anyone else banned just because you don't like what he says, then you're not really interested in reading any opinions different from your own. You just want to be fed your own beliefs and opinions. I have read a lot of personal attacks against him and don't recall seeing him directing attacks at others, or callingfor bans. It would be different if somebody comes on here and all they do is levy personal attacks against other posters and the program. I actually don't believe the ones wanting to ban him are doing so strictly because of his comments about coack Lick. (If Marty were still coach, I would be way more critical.) A lot of the vitriol being aimed at Whiskers is because his political beliefs differ from a lot of yours. He took the virus seriously and so have I and most others. Those of us who did so last year, including intelligent health care workers, were called coronabros. We didn't seek to have anyone banned. Another example is when Whiskers called out the insurrectionists from Jan. 6, on the Off Topic forum, and was blasted here by some who defended it. Again, no one was asked to be banned. I have been on this forum since its inception and believe it to be, or at least was, the best in the MVC and one of the best anywhere. Although not knowing either personally, from reading their posts here and on the old forum, I don't believe Evillan and Tom Servo would ban Whiskers because some of you asked him to. We're all Aces fans, but we don't all have to agree about the coach, players, anything. I can think of at least a half dozen posters who are more annoying than you believe Whiskers to be. If I am wrong, and you guys succeed in getting him banned, then you will have started a bad precedent and he won't be the only one gone. An excellent post, and right on point for the purpose of this forum and any other sports forum that I have seen.

What’s it to you what else I might have to say. Are you implying that if you and a certain core on this site don’t like an opinion expressed by someone else they should keep their mouth shut. This type of attitude has been building for some time. Just ask sec3 how she was attacked or otherwise shut down. She doesn’t post much anymore. If it’s a literary fight you want, then let’s go at it until the Administrators start banning people.

I didn't try to get Whiskers banned. I simply suggest he tone it down a bit. Like it or not, this forum represents UE and Aces basketball. Like it or not, recruits and their parents read this forum. You may enjoy reading Mr. W's posts bashing 17 year-olds before they even attend one practice or put a uniform on but I don't.

Actually I am implying that you answered a question by firmly stating how the team would be run. I think you could say something like, "what I would like to see is ..........." So I just wondered if your matter-of-fact statement was because you were on the staff. It's not like any of us is admitting to that. But if you can't take a comment at face value, don't expect an exchange with me.
