I personally don't agree with most of what Mr. Whiskers says but I will defend his right to say it every day of the week. I don't believe in cancel culture. I don't believe in canceling people because we don't agree with their beliefs or opinions. That's what the left does to the right in this country today. Do we really want to be like them? I say no. I think he just likes to get you guys riled up. Whatever turns him on or floats his boat...... that's his right. Coronabros are gonna Coronabro. Carry on.

I don't think the issue here is about agreeing or disagreeing with different opinions. We have always done that....that is what forums are for. However, where it gets problematic for me is when there is a pattern of unbridled sarcasm and, if you will, mean-spiritedness. That needs to stop. I have always enjoyed the Aces fan forums...I think the abundance of posters we have had have been overwhelmingly respectful....whether we agree or not. I don't want to lose that. I don't like it when I see threads being "highjacked" or legit points of views being scoffed at. Each of us needs to be our own moderator. No one should have to tell me to "tone it down" or stop being a "blow hard" or stop having a "need to be right". We share a common theme here - we want the Aces to succeed. Always keep that in mind. As E-Villian would say "play nice".

Whiskers brings objectivity to this board. Something that is very needed.

the quality or character of being objective : lack of favoritism toward one side or another : freedom from bias Many people questioned the selection committee's objectivity.
Really? I would hardly call Mr. Whiskers objective. That's laughable in and of itself but nice try.

If the dude can score and rebound, I don’t give a rats behind how big his arms are. You can be objective without belittling others opinions who may disagree with yours. Most kids coming out of high school pack on bulk and strength in the next 4 years. It takes more intelligence and class to disagree without being disagreeable, snarky, or belittling of other’s opinions than it does to blurt out insults and name calling. Any two year old can do the latter. There is a difference between objectivity and smug rudeness. Simply follow the board rules and good manners ...... don’t bring up politics, religion, name call, or be rude. If you choose to be constantly negative....we’ll that is a self-punishing act of a permanent, miserable life. Ignore Mr. Negative and don’t take the bait. You can troll and not catch one thing. It’s going to be difficult at this point for UE to bring in a huge, tall, strong and highly talented and coveted player as a freshman. I wish we could. We have to do the best we can. It’s a vicious cycle...winning begets better recruiting and better recruiting begets winning. It doesn’t happen overnight. We saw vast improvement from last year, let’s give Coach a full year to see what happens, whether or not you supported his hiring. Go aces.

it's one thing to have an opinion, it's another to be a parasite, adding nothing, and taking every chance you get to be destructive. I'm sure we have all seen Debbie Downer on SNL. She has opinions on all kinds of things, and her viewpoint is made a joke bc of it's ridiculousness. We all know that (he who we don't speak of) doesn't add any substance. When asked his opinion on who we should be recruiting instead of the kids (and yes they're kids) that he bashes and he says two big ten transfers... wow that's some groundbreaking stuff there. My fear is that his constant negativity could hurt our program bc of the non regulars reading the board. players, players parents, etc. imagine committing to a valley team and you look at the board and you find (he who we don't speak of).

KentuckyAce, Apparently I was not making myself clear to you, and apparently to some others. I am NOT trying to get anyone banned. To put it in a nut shell simply read my last sentence in my post. I invite you to step back, take a breath, and understand there are a number of us UE posters than have been around the block a few times. I am directing my objective first towards myself, and then everyone else on this forum. I apologize if I did make this more plain than I thought I did.

And now back to our regularly scheduled program .... Preston Phillips, 6'8 PF, Elkhart IN Again, everybody looks good in their highlight videos. Compared to others I've seen of guys who have turned out to be good players for us, though, I have to say I'm excited to have Preston coming our way. With Sisley and the possibility of Nunge landing here, he doesn't even have the pressure of contributing right away, even though I think he will.

So this puts us with what 5 players 6'8" Iyen 6-9 Trey 6-9 Evan 6-8 Blake 6-8 Preston 6-8 Antoine Smith, Jr 6-7, 230 If Nunge comes, I believe he is 6-11 and 245 That would be a pretty good frontline to work with. I see Iyen (and Nunge) more as centers; and the rest as forwards.

I’m not trying to “cancel” mr whiskers. I’m simply saying this forum is becoming a cesspool and black eye to the family of Aces supporters and the University because of a few… people.
I am absolutely sure a new recruit and their family and friends google Evansville Aces Basketball Forum when they are offered or sign. This site pops up and the first thing they see is some guy critiquing an 18 or 19 year old’s arm size before he even slips on a jersey. It’s actually pretty sick and I’m surprised anyone defends it.
I am happy Preston chose the Aces and can’t wait to see him play! Go Aces!!

In my honest opinion it would be better for everyone who wants to ban someone if they wouldn’t interact with that person. People are getting Purple Whiskers Derangement Syndrome. You know the people who couldn’t stand Trump but couldn’t talk about anything else. If someone is living rent free in your head the best way to stop that is to stop reading and commenting on their posts. Censorship is a slippery slope because there is always going to be someone offended by something you say or agree with eventually. The best way to evict the person that is living rent free in your head is to quit opening the door for them, cut the cable, quit stocking the fridge and the tenant will move out eventually. There is no block feature available. While I ignore most of his ignorant posts, it is almost impossible at times. You're right, it's almost impossible to ignore. I've watched you try to engage whiskers in a meaningful discussion several times. Every time he ignores you or makes some offhanded comment.
