The issue with any of these kids is that if they are quicker than their opponent, they will get the ball more often and get better looks. Not very many kids in high school are D1 quality and it's rare for a good one to face that sort of competition more than once or twice in a regular season. Quickness is the key trait -- lateral movement, the ability to get to the ball and know how to play defense against players who really ARE D1 quality. I don't think 6 feet is too short, not short enough or just about right. A kid playing at a little Christian high school has a lot of proving to do.

yes it is Rags team, but don't forget he has assistants who were All-Conference players, whi I believe has better abilities to determine talent for the MVC, than Rags.

Good article on Josiah. I say offer him before it’s too late

Good articlesome highlights:
“…Dunham is now the star guard and leader for Class A No. 7 Evansville Christian. One of the top perimeter players in Southern Indiana on a team with lofty aspirations in March, the junior has a skill set attracting the attention of a handful of mid-major Division I programs.… Dunham had a scholarship offer from the previous Evansville coaching staff but still hears from the new regime. Others who have been in contact include Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Ball State, Western Michigan and Bellarmine. He hopes a strong summer with Indiana Elite leads to more opportunities and is constantly working on his three-point shot. Dunham knows that skill is needed most at the next level...
The talent was evident the moment he arrived. Dunham averaged 22 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.5 assists as a freshman. He backed it up with even better numbers last year: 26.1/6.7/4.8 on 37% shooting from deep. The point guard earned All-State honors at one of the smallest schools in Indiana... This winter has arguably seen him become a better all-around player even if the numbers don't reflect it. Dunham averages 25.3 points with nearly six assists and five rebounds. His defense with nearly three steals per game is often overlooked. Yet, his best attribute might be his ball handling... there was potential with this team. That’s why the schedule, ranked the 58th toughest in the state and second-strongest in Class A, is atypical for a school of 177 students... “We’re focusing on getting better every single day,” said Dunham. “Our tough schedule helps us do that. I wouldn’t want it any other way. You’re not going to be the best unless you can beat the best...”

In my opinion, he’s at worst a good backup PG for your second unit, but he could end up being a good starting PG in The Valley. I say offer the local kid and give him a chance. If it doesn’t work out, have a conversation about the portal after his sophomore year, but I’d hate to pass on another local kid like Swope that we could’ve landed if we’d have recruited them.

Comparing apples to apples, is this kid as good as Bowen Born? If he is, then we need to assume that the support players are good enough to make him productive. If he's just a shooter who relies on people getting him the ball, that's a player who belongs at Grinnell. If he's got something else inside him, we will soon see who extends an offer.

Ragland needs to suck it up and offer this kid. These Indiana kids that can shoot the ball have a history of success in college basketball.

Saw him play last night at Henderson County. I can see why Rags is not ready to offer. Good shooter, but not "lights out" and missed a few free throws down the stretch (that made what should of been a comfortable win a close one.) Definitely hits the weight room, handles the ball well and a team player. Jury is still out and will have to see him play a few more times.
If he was 5-6 inches taller...he would have the potential to be another Marcus Domask.

I don’t really care what that source says. He comes from a family of athletes And he can play. We would be making a big mistake not recruiting him.

Correct. I did say immediately after that the kid could play. He passes the eye test and he’s a winner.
