Link to tweet. Pretty vague at this point. Here come all of the “hire Ragland and Graves” comments. For the love of all that is holy, please NO!!!

Not surprising - several of us, myself included, assumed those two weren't coming back. For Seltzer, there is no possible way he was going to come back after how everything went down when he took over. You could pretty much tell by the way they acted on the bench once Lick became the coach - Very disengaged. I don't really know how good or bad Commodore really was. Commodore didn't really set the world on fire with recruiting. Honestly, to me, some of Simmons assistants (Elgas/Harris/Alexander) were much better recruiters.

Logan looks like a rising star and you can see how engaged he was with Lickliter this past season. He was instrumental in landing Trey Hall and others. Who knows, he may be the successor to Lickliter...I would love to see Aces land two assistants from the group of Graves, Marcus Wilson, or David Ragland.

I thought Terrance was not involved as much when TL became coach.

So is Commadore gone or not Since there has been no formal announcement all of this is speculation at this point. However, IMO, it would be very odd that all of the former assistants (aside from Logan) would be returning. I think most others on this forum feel the same. As E'ville stated early, the tweet that came out was vague. But again, it would seem the hand writing is on the wall.

Give Logan some credit for being a rising potential HC. He has done some decent recruiting, and it’s clear from watching games in person that he is COMPLETELY engaged in the bench coaching aspect. He’s the one younger coach we needed to keep. Lots of room to grow. Now, IMHO, we need a veteran asst. who can be HC in 2-3 years. If we DON’T recruit a seasoned recruiter/asst., it would not surprise me at all if Gouard doesn’t become a VERY attractive candidate in a couple of years. Of course, that depends on his success at USI, and whether the Eagles go D1 in the interim.

Why can’t UE be more forthcoming with their publicity of events that fans should know about such as Seltzer and Commodore no longer being on the coaching staff and going further back extending Ruffing’s tenure. It is really hard to support the program when they don’t seem to think that we should know about these things other than hearing it through the grapevine from unconfirmed sources.

The fans are shown disrespect by no announcements from everything from Williams injuries to women’s coach contract extension, among other things. Responsibility falls on Spencer. If coaches aren’t not returning, that’s news that should be shared with the people who support the program monetarily.... and that is us! Basically we are being told we are not important enough to be filled in. It is up to you heavy hitter donors to complain. They don’t give a darn about a Joe Blow season ticket holder.

Yes that is the unfortunate truth and coupled with the current freeze on new hires means we have to continue to wait for at least 2 months before any movement on new assistant coaches.

I agree guys. If there is a true knock on Spencer, then his constant secrecy is it. I really thought we had turned the corner when they hired McCarty. They went out to the community and we responded. We were actually being courted to again. Now, everything seems to be hush hush again.
After years of being one with the community, things changed about 20 years ago. Marty didn't give a damn about the average fans, Stanley only talked to the big boosters, and they lost a lot of community interest. Ever since the McCarty blow up, it seems we have gone back to that.
If we have not renewed assistants, get it out there. If Spencer thinks retaining a womens basketball coach with the results Ruffing has delivered, get the reasoning out there. The local media is dying to cover anything, and will give them all the press they want. Take freaking advantage of it. Right now, the only thing the average fan is hearing is the team lost all of their conference games, and players are leaving.
