Been hearing chatter that he is on campus for a visit. Depending on where you look, he is listed as either 6’6” or 6’9”, but is a forward either way.
Was a backup, getting 2 points, 2 rebounds, and shooting 39.1% in almost 10 minutes a game.
From Chicago, Whitney M. Young magnet high school, and has two years of eligibility.

For whatever it’s worth:
Casey and Snow following each other on Twitter X and have been for a least a few weeks.
Snow and his HS coach also, so there is something to this.
Whitney Young has a former player (now at prep school) that is uncommitted.
Whitney Young has a strong tradition in the Chicago Public League which has a long history of cranking out a LOT of talent.
Small crumbs of intel here. But at the very least there are some encouraging signs.

I would rather have someone who plays more than 5 minutes, especially on a bad team.

I would rather have someone who plays more than 5 minutes, especially on a bad team. We've gone from debating whether a former walk-on should have a scholarship to whether a former 5* player should have one. This is progress!

I would rather have someone who plays more than 5 minutes, especially on a bad team. One of Indiana State’s top players was a bench guy at Bradley. It just might be a bad fit where he’s at. Lots of variables here.

Remember, one of the greatest Aces of all time Scott Hafner sat the bench at Illinois.

In 2020-21, had offers from almost every school in the Midwest including IU, Purdue, Mich, Ohio St, Memphis, then Florida before ending up in Miami.
Would def be a starter for UE.
Maybe this is why Ziggy sounded so confident when he said we were going to be ok. First two visits are Comer and Casey, why wouldn't he be confident.
This probably belongs on the Comer thread but look at who he had offers from before ending up at EKU. Bradley was he last offer, but also Belmont, Butler and SIU.
Can't wait to see who else we bring in!! Go Aces!!

I would rather have someone who plays more than 5 minutes, especially on a bad team. Sounds like he was playing out of position based on this Twitter comment when he entered the portal: “Best of luck AJ! Wishing you the best at the 3 or 4 on another team as you were forced to play out of position at the 5 and weren't good there at all.” Not sure there are any bad ACC players, certainly not many.

Miami transfer portal highlights: youtu.be/x0kLBDdczCo?si=azktYNvW4UfX1g4DAgile, quick, shot blocker, 6’9”, can handle the ball on the break, can finish through contact. Didn’t see any shots except at the rim though. Listed as the #134 prospect in the nation out of high school and a 4-star recruit. Now listed as the #161 prospect in the portal (3-star).

I would rather have someone who plays more than 5 minutes, especially on a bad team. Malik Dis barely played on a GOD AWFUL Vandy team. Go look at his stats at Vandy compared to Belmont. www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/stats/_/id/4712862/malik-diaMiami may not have played well this year, but they made the final 4 the year before with close to the same roster. Riding the bench in the ACC does not mean you can’t be a star on the MVC. Plenty of examples throughout the league over the past few years to prove that.
