The Missouri Valley actually has 18 players in the league that are 6'9 or over who will be returning next season. That does not include each team's new incoming recruits. It seems silly to me to infer if a big kid comes into our league that something has to be wrong with them. I am not trying to infer that the MVC is the ACC. But in my years of following the MVC I have seen plenty of bigs in this league that were quality players and succeeded. Danny Granger, Alze Johnson, Alec Peters, Patrick O'Braynt, are names to come to mind right away who were 6'9 or more who actually played in the NBA. I do agree, however, with your premise, that there is plenty of room for 6'5 guys in the MVC to be successful. One of those guys is Peace. Not saying he's terrible or he is the worst of the bunch.

Hate sounding negative, but I don't know how worse anyone could possibly be than Peace. When a team was as desperate for height as Evansville was last season, and you have a slow footed 6'7 guy playing in front of you, it can't get much worse than that. Walter obviously took a gamble with him (like most mid majors do). Not trying to say I am a great talent evaluator of talent, but even the video of him looked ridiculously bad. Hope he makes me eat crow this fall.

Get out your steak knives. Without offending Peace he just didn’t have the talent to develop. I have the size of Spud Webb, but you could work with me the next 20 years and it wouldn’t make any difference.
I’m glad he has not had his scholarship pulled though. He came here in good faith to get an education and play however much he could. At least he will leave UE with a degree he will covet forever.

Just saw that Bradley's transfer guard Sean East got a full year eligibility for 2021 after playing 31 games last season at UMass. Logically, Samari Curtis should also get the full season waiver too.

NCAA is going to let everybody do what they want and hope like mad they can have a confab of honchos next year to 're-invent' college sports.
-- Hundreds of football players are going to transfer, which may effectively kill the sport at the non-revenue levels. I'd wager the Pioneer never returns -- not that anybody is watching, but it IS a sport. MAC schools took a big hit this week when the Big 10 cut them off the schedule. A lost paycheck from a game at Michigan is a tough one to swallow. -- We focus mainly on men's BB on this forum, which is fine, but many sports depend heavily on students who come here from other countries. The US immigration laws are not going to get looser, and athletes from Asia and Africa may find their college choices to be severely modified. Players like Peace may not matter, but when you get an Egidius, you revel in that. For an example, Valpo has been very active over the years recruiting foreign players. We shall see on that.
It will be curious to see how the TV contracts shake out. For the moment, there isn't much that is keeping ESPN afloat. The UFC "final four" hasn't captured our nation's fancy quite yet. We may see more golf, I suppose, or horse racing.

Jeff Goodman @goodmanhoops D-1 Council has voted in favor of giving additional year of eligibility to winter athletes, source told @stadium . Won’t be official until close of tomorrow’s meeting since it could still be brought back for reconsideration
