There's basically one night to remember in the last 4-5 seasons with the program. Remember it fondly but erase the rest.
Let's celebrate this version of our Aces regardless of Coach Wilson, an advisor to a kid no longer playing college basketball, or a writer from a paper out of town who was shilling for the local school to get a really good player.
This team is the foundation of the Ragland era, they seem to truly enjoy playing together and I believe is a big upgrade from the past 3-4 seasons. Ready for Wednesday to see what we do away from home in what I believe is a very winnable road game in the Cape against SEMO.

Also I hate to be that guy but who is Kenneth Roy? Did he have a son that visited here or played here? Kenneth Roy was the "advisor" for DeAndre Williams. Many of us refer to him as "Preacher Roy" because he is always running his mouth like a loud mouth one only looking for money. When McCarty got fired, Roy went on a tirade, demanding that he be reinstated immediately, whatever he did to those women be damned. Then, after he secured a transfer for DeAndre he proceeded to trash the program and admins on every microphone he could get in front of..actually publicly encouraged all of the remaining players to transfer as well. In short, he could be a picture for everything that is wrong with collegiate athletics. I did hear stuff about DeAndre’s education and his credits not transferring and it took him longer to graduate. This guy seems like he definitely didn’t have DeAndre’s best interest at heart and obviously all of Walter’s recruits came there just for him and a lot of them weren’t the best people. Ragland has recruited some good kids and values that as well or probably more than their basketball abilities. Ragland is more hard work based and Walt was more talent and NBA background. The Evansville coaching job was a huge job to take, and the salary isn’t up to what other schools could offer by a long shot. Listening to opposing broadcasts on ESPN plus showed that other programs had little respect for us and looked over what we were doing which was why the UK win was such an anomaly. Just looking for consistently and balance within a rapidly changing program. I’m new to this forum which is why I’m not all the way up to date with everything but I have been watching for a long time now for what it’s worth. Lots of programs let alone small programs don’t go through what we did in that short of a timespan. Props to Gage Bobe for sticking through all of it and earning a scholarship spot. Last guy remaining, he’s seen it all.

I hope Marcus never becomes anti Evansville because I never want to be anti Marcus. I love Marcus and I hope he remains a part of the UE family.

Marcus has shown us his true character. I think we should all just stop talking about him. I think Coach Roy might have more character than him at this point.. What a tool.

I get it you’re a fan boy. It’s not nonsense. That’s a bullshit tweet and you know it. Stop defending it just because you have some sort of personal relationship with the guy.

Not sure what is so bad about the Marcus tweet. He was the one that recruited him and seems like Marcus would continue to follow his progress.

Promoting one of our guys is a good thing...right?

Leave Marcus alone. He is a great ACE and does not need to picking apart of a GD Tweet.

And if you don’t think that was a dig at David Ragland, then you’re dead wrong. It was also planting a seed in the kid’s head. Can’t believe you can’t see that. ‘My Recruit’

Leave Marcus alone. He is a great ACE and does not need to picking apart of a GD Tweet. It’s a free country so I will do as I damn well please. Your hero took his ball and ran. Now he isn’t man enough to just come out and say what he thinks. Hides behind cryptic tweets. That’s a coward in my book.

I have stayed out of the Wilson saga, but I will go on record to say I think this tweet does not help the school or the coach. I feel it breeds doubt in the coaches decision in him not being a starter for fans and the player.

A former player should also know that basketball is a team game. It’s not about an individual and that’s what he made it out to be. If Bob Knight had someone like Marcus on his staff, he would have kicked him to the curb in two weeks. David was smart enough to understand. Marcus had a personal agenda. He made his decision. Go promote your ‘Recruits’ and if you can’t support the entire team, then go support someone else. I see a lot of blind loyalty on here based on things that happened 25 years ago. It’s true that many former players do not make good coaches. I do understand why.
