Question for season ticket holders. Would you be willing to pay an extra $100-$150 for your season tickets if it was going to an NIL fund for the players? There is a reason I ask. They already have that option called Aces Assist Club for fans that can afford it.

View Attachment It’s more than $100 and a direct contribution to the program, which I don’t think can be used for NIL right now, but Bradley’s found a way to turn ticket sales into NIL funds, so I’m not 100% sure. Either way, I’d be willing to make the $100 donation, but I think it’s something that definitely shouldn’t be mandatory or we might lose some season ticket holders, but I would be willing to bet I am not in the minority and you could raise $20-50k via asking for small donations from season ticket holders like that.

It pays for things of a physical nature that the team needs year over year. What I was talking about is a bump in season ticket price to help fill NIL coffers, and possibly figuring a way to bump walk up tickets $5 to $10. I’m not sure how many season ticket holders we have, but $150 times the STHs would make it so that our boys could get 15-20k and put us on par with an ISU as far as NIL money goes.

I really think if most people knew that there were a lot of other people donating $100-150 and everyone’s donations together we’re adding up to a six figure number and making a big difference in the programs success that we would have enough dedicated fans willing to make the small contribution to get us there. I’m not sure what our season ticket holder base looks like right now but I’m guessing it’s 1,500-2,000 fans at least. You get half of those willing to commit to that and a lot of small donations quickly add up to a very large sum of money. I’m not sure what the NIL expectations are for the caliber of players we recruit, but I would think $10-20k would go a very long way for a college kid who has their housing, meals, and education expenses all paid for separately.

They already get tuition, room, board, monthly living stipend, 1st class facilities and free marketing
I don’t think these kids truly want to do the math on what they get to what they give
Im not anti NIL, but I don’t think this plays out well for the athletes long term

A new collective is on the way. I don’t think our True & Loyal one was locally operated. Hopefully this new collective is a lot more active in raising funds

I really want her to go pro because a) I am an Iowa State fan and we would fare better against the Hawkeye women with Caitlin in the WNBA (mostly kidding there) and b) the Indiana Fever have the #1 draft pick in this year’s draft and I would love to see her in Indiana. It is possible she would take a pay cut to go pro, but I’m not sure about that. She has become such a big name that she will have plenty of endorsements as a pro. She will still have State Farm, Nike, Gatorade, and Hy-Vee commercials and more. A lot of really good women’s players would lose money going pro but for her I don’t think it would make much difference. (The article sort of implies this.)

A lot of this depends on the maturity of the player. If she's done being a college student, she might want to actually begin making a difference in the world. The WNBA isn't getting a lot of love these days and some of the comments about Clark are at the very least, bizarre.

(This may include football and other sports as well.) Known NIL valuations can be found here. Basketball only NIL here. Bronny James leads the list at 5.8 million in NIL money. Note: This seems to only rank the top 100 NIL players.

Note: This seems to only rank the top 100 NIL players. Those On3 numbers are all made up from an algorithm and not realistic. Some guys getting far more and some guys getting far less. For instance, I’d be absolutely shocked if Shaqir O’Neal is getting 800k because he’s Shaqs son. He has no brand recognition at all outside of his dads name. Bronny James brand values probably close, but I’ve never seen him in a commercial, so I’m not sure where 6 million dollars is coming from, and it’s definitely not coming from the USC collective. I’ve seen On3s numbers referenced when guys transfer on football and I’m not sure what goes into them, but they’re not required to report NIL earnings and the numbers always seem ridiculous to me.
