The Craig Snow interview was quite interesting. Craig is very articulate and a good listen. Among his highlights were that all the coaches especially Rags are passionate about recruiting. He admitted UE was behind the curve for 2022 recruiting and also 2023 recruiting. The next in-person recruiting begins July 5. He also mentioned the relationships the staff wants to make with P5 caliber recruits, if not for immediate signing but as rebound signing should the player decide to hit the transfer portal in the future.

This may indeed be the smartest recruiting model. Once they learn that the 9th seat on a P5 bench isn't all that close to the court, they will take another look at the teams with solid coaching staffs.

Snow has articulated part of a strategy…for modern times. Develop long term relationships, from EVERY member of the staff, not just a designated recruiter or the HC. A team, especially a rebuilding team, must have a lot of contacts, and those recruits must see a genuine person/team as their personal contact. There is simply too much competition out there, so recruiting must be a 24/7, year round priority. We had ZERO chance to improve under previous staff. Now, we are solid throughout, with articulate coaches that have stellar resumes and proof that they can do big things. It may be a few months, or a couple of years before we are championship caliber, but the foundation is being built, and we’re on the right track. I really like the fact that Ragland wants ALL the coaches out front, not just him.

I’ve watched it play out in football at UK. You develop those relationships that sell a family atmosphere. The kids get wooed by the blue blood programs and then never sniff the field. Because smart coaching staffs don’t burn the bridge and the kid remembers how they were treated like a family and they are much more apt to sign from xfer portal after reality sets in that they aren’t going to get the PT they had imagined.

Seems like Roosevelt had a knack for stealing the end of game inbounds pass and scoring the game winner. This is Roosevelt's favorite:
Note: This is different than the one posted at the top of this page on this thread where he beat Gonzaga on a last second shot. Hoping some of our guys can create some of their own memories like these.

Roosevelt Jones, ex player from butler and Hart from Harrison will be next coaches named. Hart being player development Do you still expect Hart to be named a coach? If not, any idea what happened? Just curious since you were spot on about Roosevelt well before it was mentioned by anyone else.

He sat with my wife and I at the Docs show. He said he's from the Seattle area. He is really nice. I warned him that basketball fans in this part of the country can be a little crazy.

The article is on recruiting stories for eleven of UE's head coaches and assistant coaches.
