....or as those from the Memphis 'hood might say, "Yo Dawg!"
The million $$$ question is, will he be capable of expediting the redevelopment of UE Men's Basketball and replacing Lick?

He does bring a lot of experience to the table and has been an excellent fund raiser. He seems like he would be very engaging.
Despite the other candidates lack of experience than the named candidate, I did like he was a former player, had lived in Evansville, and was working at Purdue. I was pulling for him. But I am fine with the hire - he does have a huge background

He’s talking about the candidate that was not selected but was a finalist. He’s an assistant AD at Purdue and started his career as the AD at North HS in Evansville for a few years. I think the candidate from North definitely had some impressive qualities to him, but I really like the interview with our new AD that was posted by another user. Seems like he’s a great fundraiser, has strong leadership and vision, and he has experience doing more with less due to the budget constraints of the Cal State Education system. I’m excited to see where he takes us. Hopefully his vision leads to a successful basketball program. I think Spencer had many similar qualities that led to success in many ways (fundraising, facilities upgrades, strong vision for the MBB program), but sadly Spencers vision came crashing down due to Walters off the court issues and it was going to be impossible for him to sell the fans/sponsors/boosters on another vision. Hopefully this guy breathes fresh air into the program and gets us where we need to be.

I'm surprised because this appears to be a lateral move from a larger public university (11,000 students and growing?) to a small (and getting smaller?), private university.

Maybe he wanted to be closer to home? I’m sure with cost of living taken into account that he is getting a substantial raise in the quality of life for his family even if he is making less. $200k/year gets you a huge house in Newburgh and a small house in a decent neighborhood in California. He might see the opportunity for a rebuild as something to add to his resume to position himself to become a P5 AD too.
