If a new coach is hired, it woud be smart to keep Crone and/or Jackson on for some continuity. But at this point nobody knows anything, so even that can't be shared with recruits. To me if a new coach is hired, this is less of a concern, especially with as few of players that we have on the roster currently (that are not in the portal). A new coach should be able to hire his staff as he sees fit. Logan, definitely would have provided more continuity, but he seems to definitely be gone. I seriously doubt a new coach would keep both unless he just can't get better coaches this late in the game (or possibly he is a Butler guy). I could see a new coach keeping one on staff (for continuity) but it is definitely not guaranteed. If I had to guess, I would say Crone would have the inside track there; but not if the new coach needed someone to work with the guards. But there is a lot of IFs there as we don't even know if there will be a coaching change. At the moment, it doesn't look that way. But we really won't know till a new AD is in place from what I can tell.

I was just thinking that frequently an assistant will stay on the staff of a new coach and there is some value in that, but players being recruited right now wouldn't even have that assurance.

Looks like a nice pickup, but sure would like to see somebody taller than 6'4" commit. Hopefully he will be able to consistently hit three pointers.

If he can play decent defense I think he will be on the floor, quick release with a step back.

That definitely adds another three-point shooter. He seems to be a very efficient three-point shooter with some range. He's fairly easy to scout from the four-minute video. He always goes to his left and likes the three-point shot. So that is obviously what you would try to take away from him and prove that he can beat you in other ways. But a guy that scored 53 points in one game (even at the D2 level) and averaged over 20 a game, you would think he could probably get half those numbers at the D1 level. My biggest questions on him (as the video didn't show anything other than offense) is how the other parts of his game is, especially defense. Blaise and him would definitely open up the floor but both are really shooting guards.
Definite priorities should be on an experienced, solid point guard who can play right away and at least one big man hopefully two.
Hoping these kids work out. I'm guessing he has a couple years of eligibility.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't a two generation old Ace Purple mascot pictured on the twitter announcement. But looks like good signing and shows there's ongoing activity.

I'll take him. We're going to still need a lot of hard work to fill the roster, and yes, please recruit a big who can at least play defense and rebound. Not a Peace, but someone who knows his way around the court. A Danius would be fine. An Iggy would be great, but we need someone to rebound for all the 6-3 and 6-4 shooters we are recruiting, as well as a pass-first point guard to run the offense.
I'm confident we'll find someone who can at least dribble the ball up the court and pass. The Big is the problem, but it's also the highest priority. Maybe we pluck a really good D2 guy ala Ragsdale, who can competently fill the void in the middle and a 6-8 guy who can at least muscle up against a low post offense. If we have that guy, we can still play a 4 guard set most of the game and be fine.

We still have a lot of scholarships available for one or two big men for the middle. Kalle would definitely fill one of those spots and we could still add one or two more in the middle.
We need some offense and it looks like we have been reaching out for that so far. Last year if the 3s weren’t dropping it was game over. As they say about baseball, you can’t have too much pitching. We need 13 who can score not 1 or 2.
At the mid-major level there’s not a lot of difference between a good UE player and a top D-2 player. I’m glad to see Radsdale join the program. I do agree with others we need to see a good #5 transfer to commit.

Dude can shoot...love the way he squares up his shoulders to the basket and quick release...46% three pointing shooting is ridiculous. He should be of help. How much he actually plays I think will be if he can play defense or not.

I have to watch some video.

I have to watch some video. We need Kalle, an experienced PG, and another solid big man and we might just be competitive in the bottom half of the league next year. I have now made it through all the stages of grief and accepted that Todd will be our head coach next year. I’m rooting for him to succeed and end his career on a high note. Hopefully he gives it his all on the recruiting trail the next month and is able to leave the program in a decent place before retiring. I know I have been really outspoken about not renewing my season tickets for next year, but the more decent recruits we get, the more and more I think about changing my stance. Hopefully this next month will build some positive momentum for the program.

Between Matthew and Blaise we could see a lot of made 3's this fall.

However, if the Aces can sign Sekou it would be a big help. He is athletic, but more or a "put back" guy...but we need that too. However, I do think he would be a rim protector. He is the one guy who I am keeping my fingers crossed on the most.

Welcome, Matthew. We sorely needed some players who could consistently shoot threes.
