He certainly has the offensive skills to play at the next level in the little bit I watched of the video; my only question would be how good is his defense?

I would like to know who is doing the recruiting? Good question. Definitely not Logan - I get the feeling that he checked out a while back (at least a month ago or more) including the recruiting side, even though he is still under contract. I could be wrong but I believe this to be true. So that leaves TL, Brandon and Thomas Jackson. Hopefully TL is involved; but I would guess the later two mostly.

I wonder how the recruiting dynamic works in our program. It is not uncommon for assistants to carry most of the leg work and then the HC to be the closer. With Todd’s general apathy towards socializing, I wouldn’t be surprised if he barely has any contact with kids until one of the assistants gets them on campus for an official visit.

Ragsdale looks like a player at 6-4 who can succeed in the Valley. He has a nice step-back 3 and a quick release. He can create his own shot and can score from anywhere on the court. It’s easy to see why he was offered.
I’m not concerned about who is doing the recruiting but we need to start adding a few players. Guards who can score are an immediate need as we only have one left on scholarship. A new HC can focus upon arrival to recruiting/building an inside game.
Those being offered may never make it here but we have to start somewhere.

Agree, it’s not who is recruiting, but that they cast a wide net and get in the game. We need everything. Unfortunately, we seem to be offering 2s and maybe 3s. Where are the offers for some size. As another thread indicated, this recruiting situation is going to be crazy by May 1, and we need to recruit an ENTIRE TEAM, not just a couple of fill-in, role players.

Maybe I (and others on here) can check on our eligibility and get on a daily stretching (machine) routine to see if we can be seven foot by the end of the summer.
Seriously though, totally agree with ncace's comments above.

I would like to know who is doing the recruiting? This is spot on, and essentially, though not entirely. what I have been asking all along. When you are recruiting these student athletes, it would be natural for them to to ask, who is going to be their coach? I can only surmise the answer would be " I don't know". The potential recruit might then ask the assistant coach, will you be there this season and next? Again, I can't help but surmise the answer being another "I don't know". I am not sure how someone might answer the recruit if they were to ask what type of offense does UE have? That would be interesting to hear. The only positive answer I believe could come from this process would be if the recruit asked what type of playing time they could expect - I believe the recruiter would state "wide open". I can only believe the only attraction, at this point, is if a recruit was simply sold on the education that UE offers. Perhaps it would not matter to them who their coach would be. I would think that would be in most cases, not impossible, but highly unlikely. However, if a young man is just wanting to go to a place where they can play immediately, even if it is the slowest paced offense in Division !. they might come. I am not saying anything everyone else doesn't know already. The way the program stands right now UE is a tough sell, and that is putting it lightly. Sorry for beating the same drum over and over. But I have hit a real low point with UE. Don't take that to mean I am abandoning it, that won't happen. But if Lickliter is not gone for this season it is doubtful I go but to a couple games tops.

Logan tweeted that he is hanging out at the Masters, so yes, he has checked out. Unfortunately, Logan in Augusta is the only thing anyone associated with the program is sharing right now.

I would like to know who is doing the recruiting? I would like to know who is working on next years schedule. I’ve been told the schedules already set for next year, but I have no further details than that. USI won’t be on the schedule.

Since there is nothing but business as usual coming from Crone and Jackson, I’m going to assume that Prez P has already decided to ride out TL’s contract, concentrate on the AD hire. and avoid all future questions about HC. Of course, this is sticking your bead in the sand, but IMHO, the legalities and connecting with fans means about the same to Prez as hiring a new registrar or resolving a contractor issue on a campus building. D1 athletics MAY BE as important as the music dept. but it falls to a lower priority than Theatre or Harlaxton.
Of course, basketball will be back on the front burner unless we hire P.T. Barnham as AD to somehow hawk season tics to disinterested fans. What a sad state of affairs.

If a new coach is hired, it woud be smart to keep Crone and/or Jackson on for some continuity. But at this point nobody knows anything, so even that can't be shared with recruits.

As previously stated from what I see the focus is entirely (or certainly close to 100%) on getting the right AD in place (and that should be pretty obvious now). The coaching situation is a little murkier. However, if a coaching change is made it would be made after the AD hire - but I'm not sure if that decision has been made or will be made till then.
Hopefully a quality new AD is in place before the end of the month, but I certainly wouldn't expect anything for at least a week, at the earliest.
I think the President is less concerned about the coaching situation and the urgency of making a quick hire as he is about taking the time to get the right AD in place. Time will tell if this approach works; but the short-term ramification could be brutal from what we have seen and certainly would put any new coaching staff behind the eight ball with it being this late in the game to hire a new staff and recruit.
There is hope though for two reasons: (1) The transfer portal, if utilized effectively, could totally transfer a team in short order; and (2) IMHO, this is largely contingent on getting a new staff in place shortly after the AD hire (but even with the current staff and a key assistant hire point one would give us some hope, but I am very much less hopeful if this is the case as other teams, especially in the Valley, are already getting really good players to not only visit but to commit).
