Entering this week, The Valley has four teams sitting in the Top 100 of the RPI, including DBU sitting at No. 2 nationally. Indiana State sits No. 79 in RPI, while Evansville (92) and Southern Illinois (98) also rank in the Top 100.
Top Tier League: Since the 2014 season, the Missouri Valley Conference has ranked among the Top 10 leagues nationally in RPI in seven of the eight seasons. In fact, The Valley has ranked among the top seven conferences in five of those eight seasons.

Indiana State continues to find success at the plate as the Sycamore remain among the nation leaders in team batting average on the year. The Sycamores are hitting .313 from the plate with double-digit hits in 17 games in 2022, including five of their last six contests. Indiana State has been getting it done throughout the lineup with seven starters hitting .290 or better, including MVC batting leader Sean Ross (.421). The Sycamores balance continues to shine with seven players hitting four or more doubles, three players hitting multiple triples, and seven players hitting multiple home runs on the year.
MISSOURI VALLEY CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Evan Berkey, 5th, 2B, Evansville
Leading the Aces to a 4-0 week, fifth-year second baseman Evan Berkey put on a show at the plate and in the field. On the week, Berkey hit a team-best .438, going 7-of-16 at the plate with two doubles, two home runs, and eight RBI. In the field in Sunday’s second game of the doubleheader alone, Berkey helped Evansville turn a pair of double plays, lifting their season total to 33. Berkey’s best game of the week came in the second game of the three-game series sweep of Missouri State, where the La Quinta, Calif. native drove in five of Evansville’s nine runs, smashing a home run and recording a double in a 2-for-5 performance at the plate.
