Ya, they can put their 6 irons in the closet until the next windy day! Nice to see Harris close the door on the Sycs. Kid has a lot of development potential (post- Louisville injury)! Aces played some good ball this weekend.

ISU website story & boxscore:
Talk about USELESS stats:
"The Sycamores' six home runs also put ISU in a 30-way tie for the 15th-most home runs by a team in a single game this season with the last coming on April 20 when USC Upstate connected on six home runs against Gardner-Webb. The NCAA has had three teams hit 10 home runs in a game this season."

DBU pounds SIU today 10-2. Evansville now in a three-way tie for first place with ISU blue and SIU at 6-3. DBU in fourth at 5-4 and Bradley in fifth at 4-4. This team should be fun to watch the next month. As previously posted by Atlanta Ace here are the MVC standings.

Somethings to think about here. As Castle said, UE is second in the Valley in RPI at 68 behind DBU (4). ISUb drops to 90 after the series with UE. Still four teams in the top 100 (DBU, UE, SIU, ISUb) and six teams in the top 122 (Bradley 112, MSU 122). Birds come in at 187, and Valpo falls to 201 after being swept by MSU this weekend.
Even scarier, if the tournament (Valley) started today, the seeding would look like this:
1. SIU (6-3, 2-1 record tiebreaker) 2. UE (6-3, 3-3 record tiebreaker) 3. ISUb (6-3, 1-2 record tiebreaker) 4. Bradley (5-4, head to head tiebreaker) 5. DBU (5-4, lost head to head) 6. MSU (3-6, RPI rank) 7. ISUr (3-6, lower RPI) 8. Valpo (2-7)
Hard to believe that DBU would be in the bottom half, while the Aces are tied for first and holding the second seed.
And with two sweepabls series coming up, and four more potential Q1 victories possible the rest of the way, do I dare say that UE could potentially play their way onto the bubble for an at large bid in baseball?

Nick Smith pitched a two-hit shutout over the weekend in the 14-0 win over ISU:

The 3 game sweep vs Tulane is a nice feather in our cap....as they are #48 RPI. Also 12 of final 15 games are at home, so we should be well rested to compete. Looking forward to seeing Ziggy out there pumping us up.

Aces trail 5-4. 2 out. Bottom of the 9th. Bases loaded. Simon Scherry at the plate...
Aces take the first game of the series with Bradley.
