Ya, I've see quite a few elevated numbers here lately, most aligned as political "cover ass" w/ the '24 election. Semmler is the CBS-10 Sports Director who bleeds IU, but TV-10 is one of Tony Hulman's toys still running TH, the bastian of the IN Democrat Party. Who do ya think arranged TV coverage of "Question & Answer" w/ ISU Pres. Curtis after giving away the Baseball Super-Regional last Summer? Curtis is leaving early June, so she'll join her 'Nap NGO buddies lobbying IN Govt. & Higher Ed. ISU's enrollment is BELOW 8,500 students. Any idea of the LOST value of College World Series exposure?
Who appoints the Pres.? The Gov...

Jake’s deal is a Rollover Contract. It’s always a 10yr deal. He was smiling about it when he told me. Said he was living the dream Coaching in a place close to home where his family can have a great life. He may move, but it won’t be a terrible day for him when he does

Who’s the ISU AD? There’s so much uncertainty in TH; another big reason for him to leave. Angie LANSING Yes, and the president is outgoing too.

She was Assoc A.D.when A.D. Ron Prettyman inked an auto-renewal 5-yr. contract around 2016, following her then husband's 2nd consecutive losing season. Can't make this up. Lansing snapped his 5yr losing streak when Jake LaRavia (Wake Forest) & Tyreke Key(Tennessee) were playing. Both left ISU, leaving a bare cupboard for Schertz. Another 6'7" starter transferred to Duquesne. Given the long coaching friendship of Lansing w/ the Wake Forest HC, most believe that LaRavia was "guided" to Winston-Salem. I call her "Sweet Angie of Donnybrook"...she sure had Prettyman under control. No Comparison to "Clink" (Purdue/ND heritage; Asst A.D. @ NC State), who clashed w/ Pres. Curtis over 1) Coaching salaries 2) NCAA Super Regional Baseball giveaway, which is why he's history! Clink hired Schertz...
ISU couldn't afford to buyout Pres. Curtis' contract and they "mutually agreed" for her departure in early June. She's done more damage to the University than any Pres. in memory, which is reflected in the Sycamore current enrollment.

In other words- a lot of turmoil and instability in TH, which alone is justification for HC to seek other opportunities.

What's funny, is that Clink's name has been mentioned as a candidate for the NEW A.D...doubt if he'll wanna navigate TH again. He's got a substantive resume...just waiting for the right opportunity!

Embarrassing announcement from ISU imo.

The ISU board seems to take any perceived slight very personally, and that might play into why so many there seem out of touch with reality.
I am glad they had a great season and enjoy road games there.

Where was Schertz pre-ISU? Div II on an E. TN mountaintop. Terre Haute people NEVER had long-term aspirations, but most had expectations of 5-7 yrs. if he panned out. Now do you see who got "hoodwinked?" Bottom line was the crude ISU in-house administrative politics under Pres. Curtis. Go to the ISU Gender Studies Dept to gain an understanding of her yrs. @ ISU.
TAMPERING enforcement by the NCAA of both coaches & players must be clearly defined and enforced w/ hefty fines...who was the St. Louis billionaire tampering w/ Schertz DURING last season? Impact upon the ISU team/performance?

NCAA will come down hard on Texas State to prove it's not going to tolerate tampering in the P4 conferences. So rest assured, they are keeping a close eye on the ethics of how to manage a $4 billion program that doesn't even THINK about letting the top casinos advertise on their media. Gender studies is an accepted program that allows universities to shamelessly bash white males without having to account for the bigotry.

Ever check the employment prospects of students in this curriculum? I see it as today's "Kinsey Institute"...which during cutbacks, might've contributed to those Eigenman Hall Graduate suicides in Gloomington. Waste of taxpayer funding...

It's interesting that according to posts on the ISU board, players are saying they left the team meeting with Schertz feeling "blindsided". If true, that doesn't bode well for players following him to SLU.
Have we ever had 5 coaches leave the conference at the same time before?

If true, that doesn't bode well for players following him to SLU. Have we ever had 5 coaches leave the conference at the same time before? according to the ISU board, they had a million dollar contract waiting for Schertz and 6 figure NIL deals for his starters. None of that came to fruition. I wouldn’t believe anything they say. There is no way the players didn’t see this coming. Even if they thought he might stay, they knew it was a possibility and there’s nothing anyone should be “blindsided” by. I think at least 3/5 follow him to SLU, maybe even all 5. The ones that don’t follow won’t be coming back to ISU. It’s SLU or P5 for most of these guys imo.

The whole process was disjointed, by an ISU fractured administration and a private St. Louis businessman tampering w/ the Sycamore HC during the season. I posted earlier thoughts re: Schertz' character, based on comments by HIGHLY CONNECTED ISU/TH alums/fans. There were multiple offer/NIL upgrades, and you can bet TH 1st National Bank's GREG GIBSON was one of the leaders!
The ISU players should've NEVER been exposed to this throughout the MVC/NIT Post-Season.

I think people should be allowed to join any hate group they want to join. But they should not be insulated from the consequences. If this was a KKK group, we'd never hear the end of it. But whataboutism isn't the point. There is room for the curriculum if it leads to something other than, "well, we've been treated like s*** and we'd like college credit for claiming it."
