I don’t think USI is a good fit at all because they are not eligible for post season play until after he would graduate. That would be a reason why.But I heard he was at USI yesterday.

I’ll believe it when I see it. Their roster is full too. If we lose him to USI during the transitional period somehow…. It will not be a good look for this staff and the future of UE basketball in this town imo

I hate to see Trey go… Really wanted to see what he could produce for us this year, but this opens a spot up for Kiyron

wow, nobody saw this coming... he's been at UE long enough, he may be close to graduating anyway. My guess, his years remaining of eligibility and credits remaining for a degree do not line up at all. best of luck to him.

Very disappointing news about Trey. Though, Rags wording did not say Trey wouldn't play for the Aces in the future once his academics are taken care of.

Wow, this is surprising. He has seemed really engaged and I was hoping he would be a big contributor this year.

Disappointing to see that Trey was the one to go, but very excited that this staff is willing to go all in on getting Kiyron. Hope we hear a commitment soon

My daughter gave up soccer in high school to focus on academics. She wanted to take college courses in high school and became a professional student. She finally got her BSN after switching majors 3 times. She really loved being in classes. She made the most of it.

If Kiyron does come to UE will he be eligible for the first semester or will he have to wait until 2nd semester because of late enrollment?

If Kiyron does come to UE will he be eligible for the first semester or will he have to wait until 2nd semester because of late enrollment? I’m not even sure he’ll be eligible to play at all during 2022 unless he can get an NCAA waiver. We probably won’t know the answer to this until he commits and journalists can get official comments from coaches. I thought it was reported during his initial recruitment that his mother had some health issues and he was close with her. Maybe they could get a waiver for immediate eligibility based upon transferring home for that?

IMHO, He’ll get a waiver. Not much playing time, parental health issues, whatever. Much more lenience on this front.

Trey has been a vocal supporter, but for several reasons never disclosed, never could get playing time. I wish him well, but this is good news for the basketball team.

Trey has always been a strong supporter of UE basketball. It would not surprise me that his announcement was planned after Kiyron entered the portal. Both were such late announcements it makes you wonder. Now Coach Rags has the needed scholarship to offer Powell. All in all I would make the trade of Hall for Powell all day every day.
Ok Coaches let’s get Kiyron Powell on the roster.

Trey also was the player who was continously late for practice under TL.
