too many young, aggressive and hungry COACH OF THE FUTURE candidates, find themselves upside down with the NCAA, usually after they leave a rebuilding program. I'm pleased with a known coach with impeccable credentials, whether its for 3 years or less at this time in the situation we find ourselves. Wisdom and experience over a WANNABE....

I’m going to throw this out there, I think the difference between winning and losing at the mid major level is not a huge difference. Just a few new wrinkles, emphasize on different things in practice and refocus, get Williams back and it might surprise us the outcome we will get. I may not be right, but I’m eager to see.

We are a completely different team with a healthy Williams because he is the "energy, the core" of the team and he really helps in the paint where we are terrribly undersized without him. He can also take his man outside and beat him off the dribble and he plays with such emotion. We need the energy he gives us. Without him, it's all uphill. The goal at this point is get healthy, get some confidence back and some kind of improved offense and look to St Louis, it's really all that can be done. I like the coaching selection, it's right for a lot more reasons than not and I am on board with TL.

Altman coached at Kansas State, not Nebraska. My mistake Dana Altman took over for Lon Kruger, and inherited an already solid program. He went an unremarkable 68 - 54 in his tenure. Fans essentially chased him out of town. The job he did at Creighton was remarkable. Blue Jay were pitiful and averaged no more than 2,000 a game. By the time he left he owned the city of Omaha. The hottest ticket in town. Averaged, I believe, around 18.000 a game and getting into the NCAA on a regular basis (but never made it to the sweet sixteen in his tenure.)

I hope you are wrong but I guess it is possible. We can all remember a recent player who had a bright future here but he was so attached to the coach and his family that he moved on and never gave the new coach a chance. It could happen again, not much we can do about it. Williams who just set out a year I am sure would not be interested in setting out another year to play at another college, so going overseas to play ball may be what he does. A lot will simply be who has his ear..family, current staff, former coach or others. I would hope for the sake of his teammates he would get on the court asap. Should he stay and Ace and play all next year and have a monster year could get him that shot at the NBA that he really wants.

I think there's a real possibility we won't see Williams take the floor again in an Aces uniform. Why would you think that? Yes, why would you think that? Were you at the game? If you just watched the tv broadcast or listened to the radio play by play then you missed that DeAndre was quite engaged with his teammates during warmups and on the bench during the game. He shook hands with any fan he came near, his teammates, and the referees. Also, the 2 injured players and the new transfer were attired in nice looking team issued sweat shirt and pants. Coach Lick will calm down all the hubris that has surrounded the players and get them back on the right track mentally and on the court.

DeAndre could apply for a medical red shirt. Todd is in a tough position, just like Benny, that are players are just not shooting well. Call me a optimist, but if we could just start knocking down some of our shots the players will regain there confidence.

For the rest of the season, I would love to see Lickliter experiment with different options. Zone defense, full court press with mass substitutions to keep people fresh, running the offense around getting Henderson shots, letting Cunliffe run point.
What have we got to lose?

Purp thinks there's a chance we may not see DeAndre in an Aces uniform again. I think there's a chance we'll see him back start of next season healed up, playing with some inside help and being MVC player of the year.
I guess as far of random thoughts goes, it's a push.

You're right that either could happen, but mine wasn't exactly a random thought.
