I keep noticing Coach Commodore on the bench and he's not happy or doesn't appear to be. TC should have absolutely been given the job while McCarty was on leave. He knows the system (Bennie is still clueless on it), was invested in the players on this team (Bennie had no connection to any of them before this season), and the conflict is showing. 24-46 is not a record you put much trust in. You have to wonder what Walter is thinking right now. You know he's watching.

Some of you on here are absolutely clueless. All you guys do is complain about the staff. Seltzer is not the problem. All of you complained about Marty when he and his staff developed players better than any team in the country... He shouldn’t have kept the old motion offense, but he was a pretty darn good coach who competed with less talent/resources. This is an example of being positive about someone if anyone was wondering lol.
Hear me out...How about we put some blame on the players for once. What happened to Riley, Hall, Frederking, etc? Talent is not lost overnight... which brings me to my next point, this current roster even with everyone healthy and a head coach in place does not finish above 7th/8th in the conference. That is just reality. Face it. MVC is full of great coaches, gritty teams, actual post players, and so on. I want this team to be successful, but it takes a group of talented, yet hard-working and mentally tough kids. Let’s be honest, anyone can be beat anyone. Basketball takes heart, and fighting through adversity in order to succeed.

I expressed concern about that on this (or another) thread about that but am in TOTAL agreement now. Good grief!

Usually a coach will stand up for his team when they have been fouled by the other team and no calls are made. This has been happening to Sam a lot lately and the interim coach is not to be found. I saw several instances where Sam was grabbed or hit across his arms. That happens and I saw Sam at a TO mention something to a Ref and demonstrate a hack on his arm. This doesn’t excuse Sam for getting the T as he probably earned it but it should have been avoided.
The team is playing without direction since the McCarty incident, and they may be losing discipline (Sam). I don’t know what DeAndre’s injury is but he could be lost for the season. If that’s the case, we may have already seen the last win for the Aces this year. Without DeAndre we are a donut and teams don’t win with a hole in the middle.

However, some of our players old and new act like they have never competed in competitive, team basketball ever. The old saying holds so true, "Everyone Has The Will To Win, Few Have The Will To Prepare To Win". And I say this has to be done mentally, physically and emotionally.

That mention you are referencing just about got Sam a technical then and he had to backwater and sweet talk his way out of it. He had already barked at the officials prior to that over other calls.

Coach Selzer just said, when asked on the post-game show, why Cunliffe did not play the 2nd half and he said it was because of the T...then went on to say that it was a tough lesson, but he needed to learn. Of course Sam needs to control his mouthing, we all know it and I'm sure Sam knows it......but benching him the entire second half? This action hurt the team and probably taught Sam a good lesson - on unfairness.
This coach is hurting any chance we have to come together and play hard as a team - just the icing on a month of lousy cake in the basketball program of UE.
I, for one, hope that the rumors on this site of McCarty returning are true.

Bennie is a great coach but the players failed to follow his genius scheme to keep Sam on the bench for 23 minutes. As you say, Marty was a great developer of players except his players never won. Now I see the light.

I don't think it's a complete lack of effort either. There's something wrong in the locker room, practices and wherever else.

Okie...at what cost to the program? Not just now but in the future. The light you mention shouldn't mean win at all costs. Have feeling we are all about to see exactly what that means.

Seltzer is a horrible coach - if he can’t handle this team showing emotion, then he needs to have their back. Get a technical, take one for the team, do anything to help. Instead he makes the team worse each and every game and can’t coach his way out of a wet paper bag. Replace him with Coach Commodore....at least he knows the offense

Selzer needs to go now. The athletic director has to get rid of him.

Win at all cost? Who said that? A technical foul will tarnish UE's reputation for eternity? PS: If McCarty gets reinstated it's because the investigation found no cause to let him go.

Marty was an awful coach, his record (especially taking out non-d1 wins) speaks for itself. And some of us are putting blame on the players but they aren't being put in spots to win or compete. Kuhlman and frederking aren't d1 players, that's on coaches for giving them a spot on a team that they don't belong on. KJ is playing the point when he should be slashing, that's on coaching. Sam being handcuffed on the bench... well that's obviously on coaching. Sorry but bennie is just awful and nobody enjoys him being head coach
