Jayden already holds an offer from UE, in addition to Cleveland State, IUPUI, and Miami Ohio. He had some issues with the IHSAA with his HS senior year transfer and lost part of his varsity basketball playing time. At 6'6, he is very athletic and quick, seems to handle the ball very well, is crafty and aggressive, and seems to have a nice outside shot. He averaged 22 points, 5 rebounds & 4 assists his senior year. Thought I'd share his highlight video.

Looks like he has a good motor and athleticism. May need to work on mechanics on his jump shot. Can’t teach the speed, need more athletes like that.

Brewer is the sort of player who could compare with Colt Ryan and DJ Balentine for team leadership in the right program. He is obviously getting some good experience in off-season ball. Landing a player of this caliber is a plum recruiting achievement.

This is an article from a couple of years ago. Sounds like he likes to play in transition. Avon guard, 2021 prospect Jayden Brewer starting to open some eyesHis brother plays at Miami of Ohio and they are pretty close. Not sure if he is still there but guessing Miami of Ohio might have the upper hand unless one of the big schools come calling.

Transition basketball is his game, but that is not Coach Lickliter's style. Let me say that I am impressed with this kid and would love to see him wearing the orange and purple.

I didn't mention, but his brother, Josh, is in the Transfer Portal from Miami Ohio. I wouldn't think Jayden would be considering Miami now.

Offer both and you might get a yes. considering Josh averaged 2.9 ppg at Miami and played juco at Lake Land (IL) the year before. As a 6-5 SF Josh might not be worth a scholarship. His offers besides Miami out of HS were St Joseph’s (IN) and Central State (OH) both D-II schools.

Agreed, but if he has only one or two scholarship years and Jayden signs (for presumably four years) if might be worth the gamble (if the money for the extra scholarship is not an issue). Also factor in next year you can carry more players on the roster (if Noah and Evan come back) - so he would have to earn his minutes and competition is good. It’s at least a potential conversation to see if it is worth pursuing (and doesn’t hurt any other future signees).

I have a legitimate question, does anyone think Kuhlman or Frederking would have scored 2.9ppg at Miami or any other MVC school as far as that goes. I’m not trying to criticize your post, just asking a question as I think the answer is no but I’m interested in other opinions.
