I have been watching Missouri-Auburn game tonight. If you guys were wondering, Dru Smith is good at basketball. SEC player of the week. Plays both ends. If fat Marty was still our coach, we would still have him. I’ve said it along that we need guys who can play both ends. And a local kid? That’s why I’m happy that Sisley is on board for next year.

I believe he'd have graduated after last season. It would have been nice to keep him. Water under the bridge. I can't wait to watch a game in person.

Selfishly wish he had stayed here. After the Walter mess I'm glad he was able to get out and have success. Good for him and wish him the best moving forward!

The only sour memory I have of that was that absurd St. Louis columnist Ben Fred, who really did UE a lot of short-term damage inside a region where the Aces are inclined to recruit.
But blaming our current wobble on that guy is a little harsh now. It is also curious to me, but not surprising, that all the so-called 4-star players find it more appealing at some other school than the one in their hometown.
Man, a lot of things have gone wrong since Mizzou snatched the kid away.

UK and Calipari are having fits with those Evansville connections. The Aces beat UK last year, Bruce Pearl and Auburn beat them recently, and now Dru Smith leads Missouri to a win over them.

Turns out, Dru made the right call about leaving the program.

Turns out, Dru made the right call about leaving the program. He would have been found by scouts no matter where he played.

I am reminded of a few players who thrived after leaving Evansville and a few who thrived after they got to UE.
Rex Morgan left for Jacksonville and took his team to the Final game.
Simmons Haffner are two others who come to mind.
Our recent transfers haven't been much to brag about but they are still all pretty good players.

He did pretty well I would say with the Aces too. Russ Grieger, Curt John and Richie Johnson also were transfers who had success with the Aces.
