With all due respect, Seltzer needs to coach the team like it's his until somebody tells him it isn't. If he's waiting around for the word on McCarty, and if the word on McCarty isn't good, he still has to coach the team the rest of the way.

A substitute teacher can try to teach their rear off, but if the students are checked out, there is nothing they can do. That is how I see things right now. Chad just tweeted that tonight's attendance was a season low...so again, we drew more for a Thursday night game against D3 IU-Kokomo in November than we drew for Bradley tonight.

Not a good feeling to drive 2 hours to the game, scan the court, and see DeAndre in street clothes. I know it's not his fault, and I certainly hope he recovers quickly. My disappointment about seeing that, on top of everything else happening, and expectation that this was going to be a disaster only proved to be true within the first 2 minutes of the game.
I've been trying to stay positive, but tonight was very discouraging. I think Coach Seltzer and the staff are doing the best they can. Although the team has tried to stay positive, and they say the right things, I feel their hearts are just not in this anymore .. as evidenced by their lackluster display tonight. The Marty guys stuck with us, which is admirable, and the new guys are here because they bought in with Coach McCarty. I feel bad for the team, the coaches, and us fans. Whatever the "situation" is, the TRUST has been broken by this ongoing mess. The more the losing continues, the more the basketball self esteem for this team goes out the window. It is a damn shame the "situation" has caused so much strife and impacted so many people in a negative way.
I sure hope I'm wrong and that things can turn around. But, without a strong leader coming from somewhere, I'm wondering if this once promising season can be salvaged.

Same Walt offense,5 players passing the ball around 30 feet from the basket. At one point in the 2nd half our players were actually cutting in the lane and we were scoring. Then we went back to our 30 foot offense .Our season is a Dumpster Fire

Then we went back to our 30 foot offense .Our season is a Dumpster Fire The offense under Walt has definitely not been the issue. But even Walt had DeAndre. Give Bradley some credit as their defense was really good. Without DeAndre we looked really lost and were never in this game. This team needs a spark of some kind to lift their emotions: Either some good news, DeAndre back in the lineup healthy, etc. It would be great if the fans showed up in droves for the next home game; but not likely unless things start looking up for the team first. Without some type of spark this team will unfortunately continue to spiral. I hope the community, program, administration, coaches and players in that order rally around this team to turn it around - unfortunately the players and coaches can not do it all under the current scenario.

This monster (investigation) has broke this team. Tonight wasn't Bennie's fault. He is the freaking substitute teacher. Not one player, or even Bennie himself have an idea if he will even be running practice tomorrow. You can't get any buy-in with that cloud over your head. He got thrown into this, and he is even running short an assistant. It isn't on the players. For most of them, ever since they left their homes and came here, McCarty has been the center of their existence. Not only do they not have any idea when or if they will be reunited with him, they don't have that central figure in their lives. It's a huge loss for a bunch of 18-21 year olds. This has to be resolved quickly. Every day that goes by, the monster eats more of anything that has been gained in the last 2 years. The positive direction in attendance, the involvement of the students, the increase in the interest of the program by the area, and local media. The UK win, the increased spending and commitment from the university, the better marketing and game experience..all of the progress is slowly being eaten away with this ugly monster hanging over the program. To put it in perspective, we had a larger crowd for a weeknight game against D-3 IU-Kokomo than we had for a weeknight conference game against Bradley. This isn't the same team we saw in McCarty's last game against Murray State. Until some decisions are made, we aren't going to see it either. I totally agree with E-Villan and this post. At the same time I would guess that we all agree that the investigation has to be done with due diligence and run it’s course but hopefully that can be expedited and not drug out. Great post and well said.

I was driving home from work during the first 10 minutes of the game. Checked the ESPN app for scores and the Aces were down 9-0. I thought "there is still a lot of time left." I got home, turned on the game and was a bit shocked by the empty seats. Add me to the long list of supporters who would like to see this resolved as soon as possible.

Hard to stay optimistic, and I am in complete agreement with E-Villan's earlier post. The team still has time to get some things figured out, and maybe will surprise us later. But what a contrast in the feelings we all had before the season - a legit chance at contending for the MVC to now, where it seems we have a better chance at finishing last. The quicker Evansville begins a nation wide search for the right coach the better. How depressing this has all been.

Then we went back to our 30 foot offense .Our season is a Dumpster Fire 100% agree. When the original set breaks down (and sometimes even before) the players are left with 1on1 dribble-drive. And the dribble-drive and dish offense requires players that can finish and others that can make outside shots. The Aces best finisher was on the bench and Aces lack consistently good outside shooters. That makes scoring extremely laborious.

I had a four paragraph post typed up about everything but I've deleted it twice now.
All I'll say is this - the Ford Center better start putting Air Sick bags in front of the seats at the FC is this continues. I don't think I can watch that again without getting sick.
That's all I've got.

Ever the frugal one, I don't like the added expense of installing Air Sick bags. I've been getting the half-bucket of popcorn which leaves adequate room for any projectile vomit. I suppose that could vary by individual so you might need to purchase a quarter-bucket of popcorn if possible or pour out half of your half-bucket in a trash can on the way to your seat.

When the other team is on defense, it's like a break for them.

It's bad but we will rise from these ashes also.

Speaking of sick bags, I would have posted earlier, but it's taken all this time to clean all the vomit off my keyboard. I predicted that Bradley would win this game even before I found out DeAndre wouldn't be playing, but I did think we could make them sweat a little. Without DeAndre the Aces are not a competitive basketball team as things now stand. He surely will be back, maybe even Saturday, but I think that even he is it will just make the score somewhat closer. As Villan said, the team is broken, and Seltzer doesn't want do anything more than Walter would do under the circumstances, as long as Walter is still technically the coach of the team. We all hope that this will be resolved quickly, but if the law firm is working on an hourly bases, I doubt they will be going at a breakneck speed.
