What happened to the Belmont home n home that was reportedly scheduled this summer? Look at the Aces schedule on Saturday Nov. 13, and you will see what happened to it. Probably the Aces worst game of the year.

Mailbag:
Supposedly, the exec. Director of the Savannah Sports Council is a person named Rob Wells. He is the person who was crowing that they’ve signed Georgia and Xavier to play NEXT year. Can someone from the media call him and ask what the hell os going on with his tournament THIS YEAR? No website. No listing of games on the Arena’s event listing, no game announceMent as to game match ups (except for Towson and Mercer listing a couple of THEIR confirmed games.)
My suspicion is that with so many teams (originally 10, now 9) the scheduling has become a free-for-all. No one wants to play a 930 am game ANYtime, but unless the tournament sets up the games, some team is going to get the 7 pm games every day, and the others are going to play early am, or really late night. That’s what happens when you try to squeeze in 5 games per day. With games averaging 2 hours, then an hour in-between, that’s a 14 hour schedule, so each day will start at approx. 930am and run through 1130 pm…..UGH!
The tournament wasn’t well thought out, it has too many teams (should be max. 8), and their communication has been bad/borderline irresponsible. One can only imagine the mess UE coaches have had to navigate.
The end result, IMHO, is going to be a poorly attended event, run by an organization that clearly doesn’t give a hoot about the teams they’ve invited. Hopefully, someone in the media will call them out. Time is well-past for them to say, “we’re working on it.” This thing should have been put to bed a month ago.

I watched this interview last night. Very entertaining. Didn't realize Kristensen just graduated from college last spring.

Really wish he would do the mailbag forum instead of Twitter Q&A. But oh well

Agree with AD that the twitter thing is fine, except for those of us who don’t want to get started tweeting.
Regardless, my first question is WHEN are we going to see the final non-conf. Schedule, that was “done” in July. Out of 353 D-1 teams, only 90 or so haven’t announced yet. Of course, if this question gets answered, we’ll also know which 3 teams we are playing in the Sav. MTE.
Patience is a virtue, but the lack of scheduling news not only shows Savannah to be incompetent, it also makes UE athletics look like they are going along with the flow.
Of course, this also leads into the pre-Jan. Home sked. We now know our 2 exhibitions; Oakland City and Huntington, although the athletic dept. hasn’t said a peep about either. We know we have SEMO in Nov. and Bellarmine in Dec., plus one MVC homer somewhere in there. Is there another home game before we launch into Jan.?
Anyway you position it, the UE non-conf. Home schedule is unwhelming. I’m hopeful that we can win 5-6 early season games, but the aways with Ball St., Miami, UCF, SLU, and SMU will be very tough. Bellarmine and SEMO won’t be pushovers either, but we should have decent shots at both. The MTE might produce a couple of wins, DEPENDING ON WHO WE’VE SCHEDULED. That leaves a possible mystery homer and a home+away pair against who?? In the MVC.
Question 2: Has anyone been to a practice lately? What does the team look like? Will our bigs be tough enough to hold their own? Is everybody healthy? What is the competition like in scrimmages?
