I hope Art finds a place where he can help his new team, even for one year. No surprise he's graduating and moving on. There is a dynamic player inside that guy. I just never fully understood how he was used. Then again, part of that might have been up to him. I hope he gets his grad degree, at least!

It will be interesting to see where Art goes and how he does next year. Coming in I liked his style and thought he had the ability to be a good SF for the Aces. Except for his one really good game he just never seemed to gel with the team. In the Valley he seemed to be undersized, lacked the quickness for his position and played out of control. With the development of Kuhlman and Sam playing the same position as Art only bigger, stronger and more athletic, Art was being pushed farther down the row of chairs. Trey Hall coming in with a multitude of skills would force Art into a mop up role.
Art showed me a lot during his RS year as he was almost always the first one off his chair cheering those who were playing. For that I cheer for his time as an Ace and wish him good luck and happiness next year.

I wish Art the best, and grateful for his efforts in Evansville. Obviously, things did not go as expected for him. I thought he was a talent, but just never gained any traction. I hope he lands at a place where he can fit in.

Chad posted his letter to the community. Classy and I wish the best for him.
He only thanks McCarty, Seltzer and Commodore by name. This might not have been entirely his decision.
Again, hope the best for him. I loved his hustle.

Seemed like he could create at least some with the basketball (albeit out of control at times), but his defense may have been what kept him out of Lickliter's rotation.

Again, hope the best for him. I loved his hustle. I always felt like TL just didn't give Art much of an opportunity to "play out" some of his recklessness...even when he did come in and play well he got benched for ? and never really re-entered the game. I just felt like Art was passed over by TL. I wasn't surprised to see him leave. I have no inside info on this, but I sensed from the hiring of TL that there was some sort of disconnect with Art....I posted that earlier....didn't seem fair, but maybe there is much more to the story. I do think a coach could have worked with him and that his energy could have been focused in the right defensive skills....the kid could fly and he was all in - why not use those two pluses to develop a super defender?

I have no inside information but it seems like Art leaving was a foregone conclusion with him finishing his degree. So I think Coach Lickliter and Art probably had an understanding that TL was going to play the guys that were coming back next year more to get them experience, especially since the season was a foregone conclusion at that point. That is just speculation though. However, I’m sure if he was playing significantly better than the younger guys he would have seen more playing time. Again this is just speculation but it wasn’t like Art was tearing it up in his limited minutes.

Art is smart and has some class. He also has attitude. He’ll do the research, maybe find a school to do some masters work while things settle re: travel, etc., then make a determined, but perhaps unconventional move. Regardless of where he goes next, I think Art will be successful.
Good luck to him!
