Tuesday 4 p.m. at Bloomington. Aces, 18-17, will try their luck. Next weekend, a Valley series at Milton Bradley College. We can look at them later in the week. Hoosys beat the Aces last year, and was ranked earlier in the spring. Not lately, though. Mixed results against Valley teams -- losing to Belmont, Sicko State, and Illinois State. They have also beaten those teams. A photo of their ball field. IU stats iuhoosiers.com/sports/baseball/stats/2024

Good to see Dale's Sherry climbing out of his hitting rut. Sycs split w/ Hoosiers earlier, winning in TH & blown away in Bloomington.

I hate midweek bullpen games. Hitters either get a guy who can't find the Zip code or comes in and throws 15 pitches full max and gets 6 strikeouts. There's no flow to that, but I get it ... IU wants to see what it has as well.

Two Linton HS alums playing tonight, IU 3Ber & UE's DH. Hear anything re: Joey Hart lately? Fougerousse is a transfer from IU, in his second year as an Ace. Claim to fame -- hit the very first pitch of the 2023 season over the fence at Troy, Alabama.

Aces (19-17 with 9 wins in 10) continue their assault on first place in the MVC with a 3-gamer F-S-Sun in Peoria against the dangerous Milton Bradleys. The BU Braves are 10-24 with a 4-8 record in the conference. They got their clocks cleaned on last weekend's visit to the Terre Haute Cemetery annex, so they might be itching for some revenge. Not like that's gonna happen. The Aces rotation has been Deverman-Schultz-Harris, so that might not change. Nick Smith is hanging around. Jakob Meyer is now the closer. The Peorians are a peculiar team. Early on, they could barely hit. Now they can barely pitch. Here is their stats sheet, so you can look it up yourself. Bo Durbin and Logan Delgado are their top hitters. Noah Edders is their usual Friday starter. bradleybraves.com/sports/baseball/statsKevin Reed with 5 strong against the Monroe County Hosiery on Tuesday. Shallenberger, Fougerousse and Taubert are still hot for the Aces. Simon Scherry has picked it up and Chase Hug is getting on base. Bradley plays at Dozer Park, sharing the grounds with the Peoria Chiefs (Cardinals, Midwest). A picture of their picturesque stadium, down by the river. 4-way tie at 7-5 for 2nd place, so taking 2 of 3 is a must. It's hard to get a sweep of anybody. Games are at 6 p.m., 2 p.m. and 1 p.m. ESPN+ for video. Radio is what it is. WJPS 107.1.

Cat Redevelopment Center Field in Peoria is much like a Bosse Field w/o legs...
Btw, Bradley was "ass whooped" by ISU last weekend in TH...horrible P staff. Ol' Elvis simply can't fill the void of Scully's loss. So many banjo's & guitars since...need a voice that can communicate/motivate .
UE's gonna see the BA's go up 15-20 pts this weekend in Peoria.

Aces lead 9-7 after 7 innings. Were up 9-1 after 5th.
Hate to see it, but the Nick Smith experiment has to end. Not sure what is wrong, but he is hurting us.

Deverman was strong through 5 and then gave up 4 in the 6th. Smith came in relief in the 7th - gave up 2 runs on 2 hits, a walk, and hit batter. Unfortunately, he is simply not the same pitcher he was.
