Crean was spot on with his comments about the teams that declined the NIT invite. There may be a coach or two on the team and/or a player or two or three that think they are "too good" to play in the NIT but I guarantee you the majority of players and coaches want to keep playing and coaching anyway they can or they are all in it for the wrong reasons (which propably many are unfortunately). I think the teams like IU not playing says a lot about their head coach and AD. Head coach thinks he is "above the NIT" and AD had no balls to tell him they are playing. If kids do not want to play and give effort, put em on the end of the bench is how I feel about it because the majority of players I would imagine would want to be anywhere playing and give it 100%.

We appear to have divergent views on who makes the decision to play or not to play. I think the AD/staff should make the call after consulting with anybody who has a reason to care about this. I agree that the players would seem to be willing to play anybody, anyplace. Most quality athletes would say that. I know this is a bit bullish on discipline, given that the NCAA hasn't got the teeth or toenails to chew mashed potatoes, but there ought to be some kind of rule on this. Unless a team can show it's not close to full strength, which would be weird, they should be told to play. They profit from the damned system all the rest of the time. But I did see that the CIT, which is trying to crawl out of the tomb, didn't get much love this year. I suspect the NCAA will bulldoze all these things eventually.

I would guess that 6400 is actually butts in the seats, as opposed to a regular season game where "no show" season ticket holders are included in attendance numbers.

Minnesota is 3-8 this year on the road. They play 20 conference games. Georgia is 4-6 on the road. 18 conference games. Wake Forest is 17-1 at home. 20 conference games. Sick State, while 14-1 at home, has also played 35 games, or 20 on either neutral or away courts. VCU has played 10 road games out of 36 total. That's LOTS of home date income. I suppose a lot of this is factored in. It's just numbers until it's not.

Indiana State took out Minnesota today 76-64 in a sold-out Hulman Center. They will host Cincinnati Tuesday night.

One of their worst 3 pt shooting performances of the season, but 20+ assists (double the Gophers) put the pressure on the Big 10 squad. Garcia's early foul trouble really helped the Trees! Bearcats will have the "heat on 'em" Tuesday night @ 9 pm. 30 wins & counting...last home game of the season!

But they are not better than the Normals.

The two (2) home games in HC have shown "favorable" officiating for ISU's up-tempo style, and I don't look for anything to change. The Bearcat Bruiser's will be huff'n & puff'n against the Tree's. Interesting post by a Bearcat fan:
"This Indiana State team is definitely in sync with each other. It’s not going to be an easy trip."

Looks like Indiana State had a few more fans at their game than we did.

The Trees definitely play great fundamentals. Fantastic timing , cutting and passing. Good luck to them. Enjoy the ride while you can. The coaching and portal merry go round is something the Trees’ fans sees coming down the tracks.

ISU moving on to Indy. They are a fun team to watch. As a UofL fan I hope their coach brings that excitement with him next year

I think the Sycs are a whole lot quicker than UC expected them to be. But the home court is worth a couple of points. That could pay off at Hinkle. Some rather peculiar non-officiating at times and some nit-picky crap that shouldn't be called.
