The Aces basketball Hall of Fame consists of players who stayed at EC/UE long enough to either establish a record or two, or lead the team to success in one form or another. The last good class of players is 2016. The next good class may not ever happen again, depending on what we decide is success. The closest thing to a Hall of Famer now is a guy who decided to stick it out for the duration.
Gage Bobe, come on down!

Chuckie had better put some "defined muscle" on his upper body this Summer...

This is bad news. Hope Ragland can still talk him into considering us, but it seems like he’s not transferring for a bigger role if he’s willing to entertain IU.

I’d figure a grad guy in his last year leaves a spot like Clemson for PT and not sure his NIL would be much different at IU, but who knows. I saw an interview with him after the elite 8 loss and he was genuinely excited to come back and be a leader for Clemson. I don’t imagine you leave that to go to a similar position. I’d leave because I want to play. Not even play, start.

Maybe that’s still what he’s after and he’s just entertaining IU, but they have a lot of money and a coach that’s on the hot seat and desperately needs shooters to change the fans perception of his offense. They’re in prime position to overpay for 8 minutes a game of Hemenways 42% 3 pt shooting. Idk what they’ll offer him, but I know it’ll definitely more than us and most likely a lot more than Clemson would’ve. Still gonna hold out hope for him, but definitely less optimistic than I was yesterday. Anybody from Newburgh know if he grew up an IU fan?

The only reason to leave Clemson and go to IU (to sit the bench again) would be some NIL money but I find it hard to believe IU would be giving him much of anything. I do not feel he is an IU calibur player myself. They just signed 2 or 3 guards who are much more athletic and have more size? What was his best year like in four years at Clemson? Not Big Ten level, sorry.
The one positive about him looking at IU is that he wants to come back and play close to home.
My opinion is he can do great at a mid major and he should go there if he wants to play. From a size and defensive outlook I just don't see him being Big Ten level, maybe I am wrong.
Did IU pass on Ben? Seemed like he was on their list at one time, then nothing, then he signs with the Ilini. So how much sense does it make for IU to want Alex and not want Ben? I would want a 6-9 guy who could shoot the three who just came off a good year vs an injured, small 6-3 guy. Rumors....

I see where Ben was listed as a 4-star recruit in the transfer portal (96 overall and the 19th best SF). At least one person on the Illinois message board thinks he will be in the starting lineup for Illinois. 247sports.com/Player/ben-humrichous-46148658/

Alex Hemenway or Davion Bailey would be a home run recruit for our SG position.

What Woodson & his naive support group fail to recall is that even though a "pig might be covered w/ makeup, it's still a pig." He's from a bygone era of college hoop and his massive roster turnover in Bloomington speaks to this. In a nutshell, he SUCKS (current vernacular) as a Big Ten HC. He should retire and become a co-investor w/ Isaiah Thomas in fine men's clothing. Exhibit #-- "He's one of us" IU hoop failures...
Sorry Alex, but Big Ten play will cripple you...

Illinois then brought in Ben to replace Luke Goode. Will be interesting to see who got the better end of the deal, but I think Illinois will be better off. Dont think the Ben situation means anything for Hemenway. IU wasn’t looking for Ben to play the 2. Him and Goode will be the backup 4. They’re looking to finish out their roster with a backup shooting guard and a backup center that can shoot. If Hemenways willing to take money over playing time, Mike Woodson will definitely make sure he’s paid.

I'm not sure that Hemenway will pass a season of continued foot issues, which might be the reasoning for locating a "7 min/gm" school. Most people who have plantar fasciitis recover in several months with conservative treatment, such as icing the painful area, stretching, and modifying or staying away from activities that cause pain.
With these thoughts in mind, he may not be the "gold nugget" that UE's looking for. I'm still trying to figure how Ball 'frigg'n St. got Linton's Joey Hart. Burn't fuse somewhere...
