I wish Chuck and Ben well and hope it works out for them.

Alford will not put up with Chuck’s passive defense and standing around without the ball. Interesting decision. Will be in the portal again next year unless he grows up and stops thinking he’s better than what he is.

I don’t think Chuck has ever learned to play team ball. He’s always been the best player and never adjusted to the fact that in college everyone was the best player.
As I said before, Gabriel P was Chuck’s replacement and we got the best end of the deal. Gabriel is still growing and will be a 6-7 or 6-8 wild man on the floor.

The times I saw Ben in person I thought he had a decent shot, Was a decent defender, not a great finisher. Watching NBA games, these guys are on another level and it’s not really close. I see him as a 20 minute per game guy at Illinois and an overseas pro. Nothing wrong with that, but anything more is unrealistic expectations. As stated earlier, let’s move on and focus on who we have. I think we will be better next year than last and if we finish out strong in the portal We could be a top three MVC team. I don’t think he’ll go straight to the league, but I’m not ruling out him getting minutes one day. I doubt many thought Dru would find a place in the league coming out of college, but anything is possible with hard work. I agree it’s time to move on though. I won’t be following Illinois closely, but I hope he has success there. Domask and Jones made Mullins look like a fool this last year with their success, but I think Ben continuing to succeed at the next level will make Ragland look good and help our recruiting imo. We’re still one to two pieces away from being MVC contenders, but new talented players enter the portal everyday. I have in faith in Rags to finish out strong. So far, Murray States the only team with a really impressive portal haul. It looks like it’ll be them and Bradley competing at the top, and there’s no reason we can’t be right there with them with the right final additions.

The only transfer news I wanna talk about is Hemenway, what a fit he would be on our current roster. With the UE connections and our current needs, I would have to believe we have reached out!

What do his ol' NBites think about this? Can he return home and be a part of UE's rise to the top of the MVC in 2 yrs (if he's granted a 2nd Medical Hardship)?

I can't say for sure if UE will rise to the top of the Valley but as things look currently, they should be farther up the food chain than the Sicklies -- who might end up with the IU-Kokomo team transferring in.
