I believe the Trees have every starter coming back next year so I think coach will stick around 1 more year.Depaul is a no one can win school. He’ll have plenty of offers outside of DePaul. I think at worst he’ll end up in the SLU job if he doesn’t get a good P5 option. I’d push hard for the SLU job if I was him. They’ve got everything in place besides a good coach to be on par with Dayton, and once he has a few good seasons there, he’ll be in high demand for good P5 jobs.

There is an interesting scenario for the league that would impact it significantly for next year. Ford - Fired at Mo St Jake - Wash or Stanford offer DeVries- Creighton if Mac leaves Wardle - St Louis when Ford is fired Schertz - DePaul, South Carolina etc My best guess is 4 max leave, but I don’t think we’ve seen this much possible coaches movement in awhile (Of course there are 12 teams now, so that does shake the tree a bit) I am hearing that the UIC coach isn't exactly getting warm and friendly hugs.

Forgot about him. The few fans they have are ready to move on. Will be interesting to see if their administration agrees. That one doesn’t really move the needle either way for the conference unless they make a home run hire and become a serious player in the league.

A few posters on here mentioned our 1988-89 NCAA tournament win over Oregon State. That game featured 2 excellent guards that could score and distribute the ball. Gary Payton was prolific for OSU with 25ppg and 8apg, while our own Reed Crafton put up 10ppg and 7apg. Can we get a guard like one of these 2 guys?

When Transfer portal time comes the Aces will do their typical look for a local savior. Here is my suggestion if Ragland wants to continue to do this, maybe put a little spin on it by the way of Coffeyville Community College Coffeyville Kansas. That should give you boys enough to go searching for your next "local". Goodluck in the Tourn and get a couple of upsets today and tomorrow.

Maybe others can weigh in on this, but your claim they take a "typical look" for a "local savior" isn't really registering with me. Seems like the players they have on this team are hardly local, unless you count Bobe and, in a stretch, most of the walk-ons. But you might want to explain how a junior college in Kansas actually does this. Ragland hasn't suggested he is "continuing" to do anything other than improve the team. The kids from Australia might be where he starts. They beat Gentryville twice last year.

I think he is talking about Jahni Summers who is from Evansville Harrison high school and putting up some pretty good numbers at Coffeyville Community College. As a 6'6" freshman guard he is averaging 17.8 ppg, 4.6 rpg and shoots 35.4% from the three-point line.

He would be a good fit for Evansville, and he has an MVC legend for an assistant coach mentoring him, Jake Odum.

Certainly, a good lead but if he is that good, it sounds like Indiana State might have the inside track on him - unless he wants to come back to the Evansville area. It doesn't hurt to have the coaching staff evaluate him and reach out if they think he would help us.
