Oh boy, that pick off play was huge. Looks like we're going to get to watch free baseball, extra innings.

Meyer can throw 129 mph if he wants but bouncing them off the batters or the backstop isn't going to win him many games.

I think Meyer has some control issues.

Double bummer. We lose another one late to UNO 3-2 in 10.

Tough loss. Hang this one on good UNO pitching. I think the Aces are really missing Hug.

Much more fruitful viewing today, watching the Aces pound down on UNO pitching. 7-run 5th with a Widder granny being the big hit. Lefty frosh starter Kevin Reed had his moments and will get better. Foug and Taubert also with dingers.

18-4 in 8 innings on the mercy rule. Pitching looked real good after a 4-run inning. The hitting is legit. Off to Vandy for a Wednesday game.

Good to see Shane Harris have two clean innings today. His first two outings were a little rough. The two freshmen lefties (Reed and Deverman) have been a pleasant surprise. Reed’s stat line (four runs in four innings) was his worst of the year but Harris, Kressin and Bell picked him up with all three pitching shutout innings. Hopefully Chase Hug is available this coming week. These season stats don’t reflect today’s stats yet but they are pretty impressive (overall): s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/sidearm.nextgen.sites/gopurpleaces.com/stats/baseball/2024/pdf/cume.pdf

Only took one of three, but pitching held up pretty well in 2 of the games this weekend. No complaints from me.

Reed will likely have a few innings like this. Even the veterans have that. He seems pretty good about getting ahead of hitters. They need to get Jakob Meyer unfurled. Can't have a bullpen pitcher who literally has no command.
