| In-Game Links | UE Men's Basketball | MVC Standings | Jevin | Evansville | Home Page | Roster | Schedule | Stats | Murray State | Home Page | Roster | Schedule | Stats | Line | Covers.com Odds | Likely a 10-point underdog (L 62.30 - 72.38) | Notes | They beat us soundly at the Ford Center on January 6th, 81-59. They have also beat Bradley at home (79-72). Murray is an unpredictable team, so we will need to be ready. They have lost six of their last seven games but that is a little misleading as all of their losses have been close single digit losses to teams like ISU, Bradley, SIU and a road loss to Belmont, etc.; and their one win in that stretch was a blowout win against UNI (71-43). So, this has the makings of a close game if we are to have a chance of winning.
Five players average nearly double-digit points or more (9.9 to 12.8). Balanced rebounding and three good three-point shooters (Wood, Anderson and Perry).
They play a smaller lineup usually. The players with the most minutes are no taller than 6'7". They do have a 6'9" and 6'10" player who both play about 10 minutes each. |

How in the hell are they 9-15? 3-8 non conference. Lost to SE Louisiana (I didn’t know that was a D1 school) two weeks before they beat the hell out of us. They’ve been hit and miss this season, but really turned it around in January MVC play.

The Racers are as an unpredictable team as you can get. If they are on and hitting 3s they can beat about anyone. I guess this could be said about a lot of teams. In our games where we were beaten the first time by an MVC team, we lost the 2nd time to Missouri State and beat Bradley. The game Saturday will be interesting. I would think Vegas would have us as a pretty good size underdog but given we have one four straight and they are 1-6 over their last seven games it may not be as big a spread as one might think. With Ben I am taking the Aces if there is much of a spread at all after the Bradley game and how we are showing some grit coming down the stretch.

They’re always pretty close to the spread when it comes out, so it’ll probably be between a 5-9 point spread. I’ll be taking the points and moneyline no matter what it is.

The same that I said with Bradley is true here. We need a good start, not falling behind by 9 or worst at the start and play good defense and we have a chance to pull another win.

The team seems to have really bought into Rags defensive philosophy and it should lead to a lot of wins if we can keep it up. People want to criticize Kenny’s offensive production at times, but his defense been incredible lately. If he keeps it up he should definitely be All Defensive Team.

I really don’t think he’s looking to score. And apparently the coaches are good with it. I’ve always thought you can’t have 5 guys on the team that’s trying to get a bucket every time they touch it. With the other guys locked into that, it seems like he’s trying to do what’s best for the team. Interesting selflessness from a guy who has scored over 1000 pts. I think Kenny and Gage are locked into defense.

This has the makings of a very close game. The spread is around 8 or so points and it is a road game but with the Humrichous factor and how this team is playing and refuses to lose this is a winnable game but it won’t be easy.
The bigger question is which team shows up for us and them as Murray has been extremely unpredictable. Hopefully if we can up our game and come out tough and play 40 minutes (like last game) and this will be enough to get the “other” Murray team than the one that showed up at the Ford center earlier this season. But that likely will only happen if we up our game - they are not going to hand it to us.

I think it comes down to how many minutes Ben plays and if those minutes are productive. As far as a offensive stand point I would like to see Haffner get some minutes.
