Interesting. I chose the handle of "Bandwagon Fan" for a reason. I'd been to see them play maybe a dozen times since Colt was on the team. UE stormed from the gate, ripping through the first six games. I was wanting to believe that going to an Aces game was going to be like the old days. I started talking them up to friends and family. Not many people give two cents for UE these days. My work keeps me traveling more days than idle. So, I Joined this fan site. Tried to keep up with the team online and by talking with locals. Again...Not many people give two cents for UE these days. Convinced 5 friends to attend the Murray State game. All are dedicated sports fans. So much so, that two pulled out the day prior to go to a watch party to cheer on their beloved hometown Steelers battle Baltimore. That left the four of us. So instead of dragging five potential Aces fans to The Ford, I brought only three. One talked of returning to see the local kid playing for ISU, when Terre Haute comes to town. The other two, fell off the bandwagon. side note.....not one of us lingered in the aisle chatting with friends (or) stood to excuse ourselves down the row prior to a media time out....(and) dropped the cost of four tix & eight beers. If the Aces had played with any intensity or showed any desire to win, UE no doubt would have had three new bandwagoners and most likely would have pulled the two PA guys into the mix, for a future game.

First that was not a game Saturday. That was an embarrassment and a butt kicker. Plenty enough blame to go around. First starting off with the coaching staff. The team was not ready to play period. Not doing any adjusting during the game, their fault. The rest is on the players just lazy. Looks like they have figured out that it takes less energy to lose than to win and they are ok with that. Baily is a problem. Has a lot of talent but his head gets in the way. Strwbrige is a joke and lazy. Shefler told a story about when he played under Crews in the post game show. He said they were playing in Dayton and getting beat by 25 points. He said he hit like 3 straight threes and during time out or a free throw Crews called him over to him and Scott thought Crews was going to pat him on the back. Instead he said Crews with some words he couldn't us asked him why he could hit shots being 25 down and could not hit shots when they meant something. That is Kenny Strawbrige. I agree where is Jackson where is someone else off of bench instead of Kalle who is terrible. I will stop plenty to go around. I fear their is something wrong internally with the team. I hope not but that is a fear. I also fear that Ben's foot injury is going to take a long time before he is healthy again and calling it day to day keep hopes up and ticket sales up (maybe not after this game) jeeezzz.Rags said after the game he talked to the team like adults. Lets hope they react like motivated young men. Will be watching Wednesday. Go Aces!!!

So, I noticed that Ja-Kobi Gillespie, Belmont's star guard (16.2 PPG and the MVC leader in steals) was out with a wrist injury today in their game against Drake. I also note that Belmont (in Gillespie's absence) demolished Drake today.
How come the Aces didn't have other players step up when one of their star players went down? I guess it is harsh to say, but I didn't see Belmont use that excuse in playing their game today.
There needs to be someone on the Aces to step up and lead. I didn't notice anyone on our roster willing to do that on Saturday. As much talent as this team has, that is inexcusable. I liked Scott Shreffler's story about Coach Crews chewing him out about not making clutch shots when they counted. We need someone to push that kind of accountability during a game, too. I don't think that's expecting too much out of a team of our caliber.

Need to give Murray credit. They played tough defense and doubled down when the ball went inside. They also were hitting their shots including some with a man in their face. The Aces will have problems with quick teams. Lack of quickness is obvious for the Aces with Bailey being our quickest player and it is obvious the hand is giving him problems shooting and controlling the ball. Also without Ben our Big Ben can be pushed around inside. The 'small' lineup with Prohm went to at 13:06 in the 2nd put Y'all on your heels. Justin Morgan subbed in for Sam Murray and Alden Applewhite moved to the 5 with Rob Perry, Brian Moore, and Jacobi Wood. They went +4 over 2:46 Quincy Anderson subbed in for Perry at 11:20 leaving the fastest and best 5 individual defenders on the floor and they went +10 over the next 3:15 second span. Wood Moore Perry Morgan Applewhite were back together later at 5:05 to close things out and went +4 again over the next 3:03 before Prohm waved them off for the final 2 minutes. I don't think that those lineups have seen game action together for Murray. I think y'all had Humrichous the game would have looked a lot different.
Welcome! I posted earlier in this thread that Murray had classy and well informed fans. Thanks for coming over and proving me right. Like I said, every program has a few unhinged fans. I would have liked to have seen us give you a game similar to the 2019 one. Maybe down there. I hope getting punked at home will awaken something like those losses did for you.

That’s what upsets me the most about this performance. Your friends were surely not the only people that left the stadium feeling that way. I have been talking up this team to anyone that would listen. I convinced a friend of mine’s dad who was a big fan in the glory days to attend this game. He said he won’t be back either after the game. I doubt anyone that was at the game for their first glimpse of the team will be coming back to the Ford Center this year, and that’s a lot more upsetting than a 20 point loss.

I sat near the Racer section and didn't witness any of crazy gal. I feel cheated. I love Murray State and their fans. They show up in numbers and are quite exuberant. I have also chatted with quite a few of them and have nothing but positive feelings about them. The worst fans I have ever seen were from Wichita State. They didn't have one crazy person, they had a whole coven. They were as rude as racer fans are cordial. If the Aces can't be the MVC champs, my choice is Murray State. Don't let their record fool you. They are talented and well-coached.

All us die hard as well as the causual fan were let down by the performance on Saturday. Such a shame with our biggest crowd on hand in years. We took a step back and our momentum we were building ran into a wall.
Coaches, players....lots of blame to go around in preparing and executing. It is a letdown but one positive I see coming out of it is the fact that with "just some success over some mediocre and weak teams" we still show the ability to bring in big crowds with effort by the UE staff. The community support and enthusiasm is growing. This continues to show how hungry many of us are for the Aces to return to being a really good basketball team.
Hats off to the AD and staff for working hard to get butts in the stands. You did your job and the people responded. The effort is there and us die hard fans appreciate it. Eventually our level of play on the court will be where we want and need it to be.
Not to make excuses for the effort and poor performance but the turnaround from being rock bottom a year ago is not going to change overnight. It is just the second season with this coaching staff and we are better and going to get better. Should this kind of game happen in year 3 or 4 I think most if not all of us will really be disappointed even more than we are now. Hopefully these kind of blow out games are soon going to be in the review mirror.
Go Aces !

daddysboy: "Just to be clear; Wilson’s “guys” are Kenny, Chuck and Ben" Just to be clear, Wilson didn't specify who his guys are or that he even had guys to call his own. His cryptic tweet was shrouded in secrecy, wrapped in generalities. Coupled with his somber slide out of town, he did make it easy to extrapolate so I did just that. I'm not at all surprised that you know the specifics. Thanks for clearing that up. Sometimes I amaze myself. With all of Wilson's ego tweets locked, blocked and removed, I set out some cheese. Who would still have access to them and be able to provide a screenshot to prove me wrong, I asked myself. I hope you like limburger.

Who would still have access to them and be able to provide a screenshot to prove me wrong, I asked myself. I hope you like limburger. I'm a Marcus Wilson fan. So, I guess, I'm still part of the 4500 followers who can see his post. Marcus has an Ego bigger than most. But, who with his level of basketball success doesn't? I know a lot of professionals and most feel like their basketball intellect is superior to others. He was a elite basketball player, good announcer and seems to be a great recruiter, someone who has an eye for talent. And if you read his tweets, seems like he understood he wasn't a fit on the coaching staff. I also know that he has encouraged players to stay, helped them as he could when they have struggled this year and has been a positive voice in their ear. So, his tweets and his thoughts are his own. And if the suggestion that I've read on here is true...many fans have lost respect, love, etc...for him so; his tweets really shouldn't mean anything to anyone. Back to the Murray State game thread takes...the players sucked, the coaches sucked and we apparently lost would be fans. Glad we have a game on Wednesday. It's like the Dr. Pepper commercial when everyone goes crazy because something bad happened then the Boz has to remind them the game just started. 10-5 isn't that bad, especially if you remember at this point last year we had only won 4 games and was on a four game losing streak with the last and final win happening a month from now. #GoAces

I believe what you are saying, but unfortunately, Marcus is not tweeting about any of the positive things he is doing for the program. Only giving us fans vague tweets and weird actions such as blowing off the '99 ceremony. That doesn't seem like a guy who just wasn't a fit on the bench. Sounds like some things may be shaking on the NIL front with Ben getting the fitness center gig though. You're correct that it is one game and we are light years ahead of where we were. There will be bumps and bumps. Even our better teams, like the above mentioned '99 squad had losses worse that this. Unfortunately, getting our ills cured Wednesday night in Peoria will be extremely challenging to say the least. Sorry if I come across with low tolerance for whiners stating they will not come back because of one bad game. Even with the beating, was it really that bad of a way to spend a couple of hours? How about doing like the rest of us and sitting through an entire season of that, like 2020, 2022, etc? If a whackadoodle from Murray can get triggered over an intro video, then I shouldn't expect soft newbies to have the patience to watch a program rebuild. If they are not going to come again, I just hope they get a hold of the Murray Chick and keep her with them.

I would love for UE Murray to be come just as fun of a rivalry Murray APSU is/was. I'm so happy we are in the Valley now. It took getting punked on the road, then home to really get the Racers going, I hope y'all don't have to go through 6 game skid like we did, especially now. We'll find out how awake we are Wednesday. If you get bored and want to laugh at a bunch of jackasses racerfans.com will welcome you. Sign up if you want to post or don't an lurk, whatever. I'll approve anyone that doesn't look like a bot.

They have a special place in my heart as well. You are absolutely right about Wichita having a whole coven of deranged paychos. Marshall’s wife/son fit right in with them and egged them on.

Thanks for the invite. I actually signed up a while back and have made a few posts. I don't troll or even try to disagree too much with opposing fans on their board, but welcoming someone to our league or giving food recommendations is within my wheelhouse. We have the same view with opposing fans coming here. They are welcome to opine and engage, just don't troll. We have even had a few join in on our contests. I'll even let the Crazy Murray Chick in, I just hope she identifies herself as such..lol. We all need a good laugh. Very impressive week for you all. Two weeks ago, I would have projected two road losses for you, instead you come back home with two completely blown out scalps. I really don't want to like Prohm, but if he keeps this up..
