I agree that without Ben and Chuck it will be tough to keep this game close but we did for a while at Cincy.
But versatile, athletic players like Ben and Chuck to guard their three point shooters, etc would make it a lot easier to keep it close and pull the upset.

I’d be happy to get one of them back and Braylon Jackson. I don’t know anything about Braylon’s development but he has to be an asset of some sort.

Is there anyone who could tell us whether or not Ben has a broken foot? I know, private school, super secrecy, all that stuff is BS. If he's got a broken foot, just say so,and not give this day to day stuff. Maybe there's one available newspaper or TV reporter who could ask. In this day and age with more technology at our resources than ever before, there is so much less real reporting also than ever before. I ask because on the Sycamore Pride fan forum, not on the Evansville game thread, but on page 24 of "2023-24 Around The Valley," a poster on Friday posted this:
"Evansville's best player, Ben Humrichous, will be out for our game. Believe broken foot that will keep him out of all of January at the least. Their leading scorer, averaging 16.3 ppg, and 5.6 rpg. Also, leading 3 point shooter and shot blocker. Huge loss for them."
Then their forum moderator replied: "Stinks...I was interested in seeing their new Blake Simmons."
I hope that poster is wrong about Ben. We're in a world of hurt if he is out with a broken foot. Hoping it's not that serious, but wishing him and Chuck a quick recovery. I am sure they want to be on the floor more than any of us want them to. It also would not be good if opposing fans have better sources than fans here have. And "the new Blake Simmons" comment-pretty insulting from a guy who's usually pretty reasonable and respectful.

Idk specifics on Ben, but from what I was told, it’s definitely worse than “day to day”, but hopefully not as bad as a broken foot. I’m no Dr, but I would think a broken foot would be close to a season ending injury. I was told hoping to return prior to ISUr coming to town or maybe sooner if things progress well.

Thanks for the reply. Your info is more optimistic and hopefully turns out that way.

Swap out Ben for Blake on the 2015-16 team with DJ and Edgidijus as Seniors -- definitely would of been in the NCAA tourney. Probably a 30 win season.

Aces open at +14 tomorrow vs the Trees. About what I expected the line to be. Let’s pull off the upset!

Feel free to move this to off topic section, but since we play ISU tomorrow, I figured it was somewhat relevant.. Pretty shocking move. Seemed like he was a very successful AD, with his only major blunder being failing to host the baseball super regional, but I’m not sure that was actually his fault. There has to be more to this story.

There has to be more to this story. The speculation is making it sound like the President had an axe to grind with the AD for not being willing to take the fall for her decision to not host a NCAA baseball super regional. Public outrage over that was the final straw that led to the president being forced into retirement, and the ISU fans are convinced she’s being vindictive and taking the AD out on her way out the door. If true, that is an absolute mess of leadership and ISUs Board of Trustees should be ashamed for having let it occur. An ISU reporter has already stated that there was no legal issues or NCAA infractions that led to the resignation.

Strange story indeed and even stranger timing. I would have to think the relationship has been strained since he didn't take the fall for her complete mishandling of the Super Regional. Apparently she does feel this had a part in the pressure for her to resign.
She ruined what had to be a historic baseball season for them and now appears willing to throw the best basketball team they have had since 1979 completely off the rails. Putting the ex-wife of a fired basketball coach in charge is something I am sure Schertz can't wait for.
The BOD need to get her off campus immediately before she burns it to the ground. The pitchforks are already on fire in Terre Haute.

Unfortunately we have no room to talk when it comes to Board of Trustees and ADs after the McCarty hiring and subsequent mess.

Both Chuck and Braylon appeared to be practicing today in Terre Haute.

Chuck had a wrap on his off hand at the Cincy game assuming he was out for precautionary reasons because the game didn’t mean anything in the grand scheme of things. Ben id assume will continue to sit but he was moving around way too much for it to be a broken foot

I just checked ESPN has gametime listed at 6pm (Evansville) not 7pm.
