I saw this unique giveaway that Scott Peace arranged to entice the Kent State students to their game. Interesting idea. Thought I'd share. I do think Logan and Ziggy are also being very creative with incentives for our students to get out to the Ford Center for games.

We should have had the cheap beer during the Lickliter era. As much grief as we have given them over the hype videos the last few years, I did notice the one prior to the UNI game was pretty good. Brought back We Will Rock You which is far better than the whiney drug commercial song from last year. Just get the ribbon boards in unison like the last time we used it and we will be rocking.

Looks like we’ve sold 200 or so since the last update. Hope we can get a full sellout

A lower bowl sellout would be possible only because Murray State has a strong fan base that follows them on the road. The Aces need their money so I hope it happens. It will be a loud game because Racer fans are loud and have small town chips on their shoulders. Hopefully our noise is louder than theirs. It should be a fun game to watch.
White-outs don't work here. I have no idea why they keep trying them. They especially won't work in a game where up to 20% of the crowd will be wearing Murray colors and half of the rest will have no idea that they should be wearing white. I don't have any white so I'll be wearing purple, orange or black. Game time decision.

Same complaint with the blackout last year too. If we’re doing a colored game, it needs to be an orange out like 2019 since the majority of the fanbase owns some orange aces apparel. We also need to stop doing the color outs during Murray State games for all the reasons you listed. No reason to make it painfully obvious how many fans they’re bringing. I am optimistic that the majority of the lower bowl sellout will be from Aces fans though. We’re pretty close to a sellout already, and I doubt it has crossed most Murray fans radar to purchase tickets yet.

Up to two inches of snow expected to fall early in the day. A tiny fraction of that paralyzes the locals. There might be a white-out surrounding the Ford Center. I wouldn't drive to Murray State in the snow so I guess I would be a paralyzed local.

The way these white-out things work is in the mind of the college sophomore who suggested it because the people in charge can say, "wow what a great idea!" It doesn't have to BE a great idea, but it keeps them from having to call somebody to actually put some effort into a promotion.
The orange or purple (or white) hand towel giveaway would be an excellent idea, even if the towel advertises Maxey's Billiards Parlor. Of course, that would require somebody actually going out and getting that job done. "Wow what a great idea. Let's do that next year if we think of it. Just envision, 8,000 fans all waving a towel to the Englebert song!"
All that aside, the 21st century basketball fan is not the same fan who inhabited the fieldhouse in 1965. I mean, we have 18 grinning cheerleaders now clogging up the end zone of the court and if they actually do anything but squeal and wave their poms, I don't know who notices. But they all grin well.

The only white shirt I own is a white tank undershirt. Not a good look without a purple or orange UE shirt over it!
