They have to improve three major problems. 3 PT defense. Drake shoots just as well, but they have big guys for rebounding. free throws. Got to hit them. Toumi. And better 3 pt shooting.

Is it possible that laying off the perimeter was part of the game plan and it didn't go as planned? They seemed to get a handle on it just before halftime.

An interesting stat that is bound to generate some discussion is that Gage Bobe in 26 minutes of play had far and away the best +/- differential (+23). He only scored four points but appears to have played an error free game: 2-2 from the field, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 0 turnovers.

"The plus/minus statistic is a measure of the point differential when players are in and out of a game. It is calculated by taking the difference in the score when the player enters the game and subtracting it from the score when the player exits the game."

Gage was part of the second unit that kept us in the game after we got behind earlier. Tanner, Chuck and Sekou were also part of the second unit that did well.

Good news, Ben, Antonio, Tanner look very good at the free throw line. Same old Toumi! Chuck was really a joy to watch. Lots of hustle on defense and 2 great dunks. No forced 3 attempts. Offense ran through a big most of the set plays. Ben, Tanner, and Kenny looked good one on one in the paint and down low.

Interesting that Sekou did not play much in the second half. I wonder if he aggravated an injury or something?
Based on the quick look we got of him, I’d like to see what we look like with him in the starting lineup over Yacine. He was far more active defensively and rebounding and seemed to have an improved offensive game imo.
If Tanner Cuff keeps playing like he did in the exhibition, I would expect him to take the starting PG role sooner than later.

The good… Much deeper this year. Can go 9 deep and not lose much. Most impressed with Bailey, Cuff, and. Humichous. Humichous is a fighter… physically aggressive, rebounds, and one of those guys who doesn’t score a lot but maks a difference in little things. Good FT shooter too. Bailey and Cuff lead the team in points off the bench. Bailey had two monster dunks, one a two handed, goal swinging break away. The other was a worthy ESPN top ten play….. he came bolting in on our missed shot and did a one handed, flying monster slam put back. He had 16 pts in 25 minutes off the bench. Very quick, very aggressive, and can flat jump. All short range points. Another plus is we didn’t constantly chuck up threes. Cuff is dangerous out there though. All 9 guys scored. And 3000 showed up for a rainy day exhibition game.
The bad,…… Wabash killed us from 3. They shot incredibly well. We need to guard the line better. A lot of their open looks was created by our short guard who had to switch off and guard a bigger man who immediately took him to the hole. We were forced with the choice of let the bigger guy takeour shorter inside, or leave your man to help out and get burned by a three. That’s not a knock on our guard, he’s just not very big and doesn’t jump very high. He does play hard, plays within himself, and doesn’t make many mistakes.
Verdict, much more fun to watch, deeper, taller, and more good shooters.

By all accounts, we will be ten deep when Josh is healthy.

I was impressed by Chuck, Tanner, Ben, and Sekou. Kenny and Antonio were solid. Cam, Yacine, and Gage...meh.

I did not get to watch the game and was only able to listen to the final 15 minutes of game time....did not hear Haffner's name mentioned. Did he play any during the 2nd half?
Should the starting lineup be: Cuff, Bailey, Strawbridge, Humrichous, and Toumi? That would be mine

Hard to argue against your lineup based on this game, but Cams outside shooting would definitely be valuable and help space the floor when he’s got it going from 3.
