If we can get someone with size who has some ability - I definitely think we should jump on it. But we need to avoid any of these project type players like Peace who can't contribute. That's what scares me with big guys. I really think the top priority for next year is Sissley and I think he can definitely make an impact. So really we just need someone who can plug the gap till we can get him which hopefully we are still working on.

Any news at all on the recruiting front? There is still activity on Verbal commits, but I don't see anything on the UE grid that indicates we are offering anyone else for this fall. Do we not have one opening to fill?

it will not be filled this year I have not heard anything about TL banking next year's scholarship, unless you heard something I did not. My guess is if the coach would learn of someone who could make an impact he will use it. That would include a possible transfer who would have to redshirt.

it will not be filled this year Considering we will already have several scholarships to fill next year, TL will surely fill this scholly if he can. There will probably be a lot of late signings given all of the uncertainty of the moment.

This is a tough spot for programs like UE that need to find 4 or 5 guys.
I don't want to see them clog up the works for 4 years with some slow guys who can score a 3-ball if they stand still for 5 seconds and take aim. I think transfers might be our best bet, despite our complaining about how the planned changes are going to bleed the middies dry. If Lick can pull this off, he deserves COY honors.
The good news is that the players have had plenty of time to think it through.

I thought I'd share ... I just happened to notice that Nigel John (6'10 center) has recently "followed" Coach Logan on his twitter. I thought his name sounded familiar as a past UE recruiting interest, so I looked at Nigel's twitter account. He recently announced that he is dropping Utah State and reopening his recruitment. Not to say there is anything to it, but who knows? Per Verbal Commits, his past recruitment came from Wofford, Washington State, and Louisiana Tech, and currently includes calls from Arizona State and San Diego.

Good, good. You are learning the ways of the force (Twitter).

After looking closer at his resume, I noticed where he decommitted from Washington State in March, 2019, and now has decommitted from Utah State.
I don't know the circumstances, but we sure need to add a talented 6'9+ post player who will be reliable and stick with us, IMO.

Washington State changed coach in March 2019 that more than likely caused John's decommitment. As far as Utah State, I find it odd he committed at all because their roster for last season listed 7'2" and 6'10" juniors, a 7' sophomore, a 7' red shirt freshman, and a 7' freshman.

Wow, that is a lot of height on the Utah State roster! Thanks for that additional info regarding those 2 school situations. It makes it more understandable in regard to Nigel's decisions.
