youtu.be/J5mpBNGgOlI?si=CFn0IBfWzu8nuo0-Makes an appearance in this Oak Hill video. Haven’t heard of the school they’re playing though, so not sure on the competition level, but he makes some very athletic plays. He certainly appears to be able to attack the rim and play inside. Looks like he played very sparingly once they got into their elite prep school league. Only played 5 games for 28 minutes and only scored 3 points all year, but I wouldn’t expect anyone who’s putting up real stats in that league to ever have any serious interest in us tbh. The league is almost exclusively for top 100 players. youtu.be/qtDttrH1Y08?si=jbEJVGybdiWkMHYkLooks like he joined griffin elite AAU in July and played in one tournament this summer. Here’s the highlights. Looks like he only played 3 games before injury. underarmournext.com/basketball-teaminfo/griffin-elite/You can see his overall stats and game by game stats in this link. Looks like he did not shoot well from behind the arc in this tourney. Had one pretty bad game and the others were okay statistically. As others pointed out, the efficiency could use some improvement. When he has a bad game, he can play real bad, but watching the highlights and seeing his stats from good games, he definitely has the raw tools to succeed and be a good player for us. Just need the coaches to work on his consistency imo.

He uses the backboard well when shooting. Has the body similar to Matt Webster. Big enough to bang on the boards and still be able to shoot from outside.

I like the Matt Webster comparison considering his rebounding numbers are so good. Looking at the 2024 threads/ prospects, this guy is at our near the top of my wish list.

I take highlight videos and stats for that matter with a grain of salt, but I like this guy. His aggressiveness reminds me of Reed Jackson.

I wonder how Nic's visit went this weekend. Has anyone heard anything through the grapevine?

Looks like we’ve officially offered. Hope we can sign him. Seems like a great fit for the way Rags says he wants to play imo

Thanks, StlScooter ... pretty recent post on Nic's Instagram, so I guess my question was timed right! LOL Nic looks good in the Evansville jersey!
Just saw Larry's post. That's awesome news on his offer. I'm hoping Nic and his family had a great visit! Evansville should have been hopping with the Frog Follies in town last weekend, too (no pun intended!).

Do you think Cam Haffner, also from Westfield, will influence his recruitment?

Do you think Cam Haffner, also from Westfield, will influence his recruitment? Hopefully his dad and his brother can put in a good word for us, but he just transferred to Westfield this summer, so he’s probably never met Cam until his visit if I had to guess. Cams little brother is teammates with him though, so hopefully he’s telling him positive things about his family’s UE experience

Hope we get him, pretty awesome that he is teammates with Cam's younger brother. I like our chances.

A snippet from the following site that mentions Nic and Kaia (from a year ago): nz.basketball/kiwi-ballers-worldwide-usa-high-school/Oak Hill Academy, Virginia Nic Book – Oak Hill Academy Book was New Zealand’s leading scorer(12.6ppg) and rebounder (8.6rpg) at the 2022 FIBA U17 World Cup in Spain. He also helped Canterbury to the 2021 U17 National Championship, and was named to the Tournament Team. His father Ed was a Tall Black and mum Lisa a former Junior Tall Fern, while sister Amiee (Fresno State University) and brother Josh (Missouri Western State University) are on basketball scholarships in the States.

With the recent additions of Kaia and Ramondo for next year, and one scholarship left, I'm hoping we can get Nic Book on board.
I guess we shall see how things turn out.
