I think some of the games in the video are from Armstrong gym in northern Vanderburgh County. ššš

AustinAce, from the last article you posted, I'd say we also try to see if Nic's dad has any eligibility left ... he's 6'10+ ... and looks like he would dominate in the paint! LOL

Surprised this kid doesnāt have more interest. Looks to be pretty talented. Iāll be interested to see what kind of stats he puts up playing IHSAA ball this winter. Hopefully we can get him to sign before that. Seems like one of those kids that suffers from not getting AAU exposure but is still very talented.

Oak Hill Academy used to be one of the top basketball programs in the country. I donāt know how they rank today as coaches come and go.
Nicās Twitter post says the video was highlites from 2021. That would be his freshman year. He has a lot of offensive skills for such a young kid. In the same post he lists his averages which I would assume was for the same time period.
A bit confusing is that the post is current since the Twitter change to āXā appears on the page. So Iām not sure if we have apples and oranges here. Whatever the time frame 27 ppg and 13 rpg are pretty good stats. The UE coaching staff must have all the dots connected since heās here on an official visit.
He does have a sweet shot no matter his age and heās a solid 6-8.

Watching the video, I question the level of talent heās putting those numbers up against and how seriously we should take those numbers, but I still think heās a very talented player. Hereās some FIBA highlights from last year where he doesnāt look as crazy dominant as he did against the NZ high schoolers, but he still does a lot of things to get excited about. t.co/JVHxesWSsxHereās some twitter highlights from him playing against Bloomington North this summer. His game reminds me of Jake Laravia

His FIBA stats are interesting - not a good shooting %, a 20-25% shooter beyond the arc, and about a 52% free throw shooter. Those stats have to improve drastically to be a D1 player!

The Bloomington North game showed me he has a lot of potential. Good coaching that we now have at UE could develop that potential. Without beating the dead horse I have seen players show up at UE and make you wonder how they were recruited. Some of those turned out really good over time.
I guess we will find out later this weekend what the coaches intend to do.

His FIBA stats look like heās a good 3 point shooter when heās on but he keeps shooting even when heās off. Definitely canāt have 2/10 and 0/8 nights and get it done at the D1 level, but I believe in our staff to help him improve his consistency and avoid the awful shooting nights. The FT % is concerning, but it seems like everyone we recruit has a concerning FT %. Iām guessing the staff thinks they can coach them out of the horrible %. We obviously havenāt seen that happen yet, but hopefully weāll see a big improvement in team FT shooting this season.

Another interesting note on the FIBA stuff. Him and Josh Hughes both played in the U16 Asia tournament. They both played Japan and Lebanon in the semi finals and finals/3rd place.
Vs Japan Josh - 14 min, 6 pts, 1/2 2 PT, 1/3 3PT, 3 RB, 1 AST, 2 TO, 1 BLK +\- -5, Efficiency 5 Nic- 27 min, 25 pts, 5/9 2 PT, 4/9 3PT, 12 RB, 3 AST, 3 TO, 1 STL, 3 BLK, +\- -7, Efficiency 31
Australia won 94-63 and NZ lost 99-79 v Japan. The plus minuses are pretty telling considering the final scores imo.
Vs Lebanon Josh - 14 min, 4 pts, 1/2 2PT, 0/0 3 PT, 5 REB, 0 AST, 1 TO, 3 BLK, +\- +17, 8 Efficiency Nic - 22 min, 17 pts, 2/5 2PT, 4/7 3 PT, 10 REB, 3 AST, 2 TO, +\- +22, 21 efficiency
Australia won 85-51. NZ won 89-62.
Small sample size and Nic is clearly a more focal point of the NZ offense than Josh is for Australia, but if youāre excited about Joshās potential, I think thereās a lot of reason to be pretty excited about Nic. Both will need some coaching and development, but I think thereās a lot to like about Nics game.
